Does anyone know how to make BAM quit stuttering? I cannot play games using it because it does that. I do have the latest BAM installed, and I have a good graphics card, so this stuttering doesn't make sense. Thanks for any help you can give!

@GeorgeH is probably the best person to answer this, but since I'm reading this, I'll help out as best I can.

First, stuttering can occur for a variety of reasons, so it's good to do as much preliminary testing on your end as possible. For example, is it all BAM tables? Does it still happen after trying out various options in FP's "video / rendering" settings? (for example the 'high, medium, low' options at the bottom)

In this way, checking out as many options as you can yourself gives you a much better test-report to bring to others. One might even solve the issue oneself like I did the other day.

Also, Google! Google may be sort of a cliche, but it also makes for a database of people who had the same kind of issue you did. Put in as many details of the problem you can and see what results you get.

Last thing I have to suggest is that George created a huge FP setup guide that I don't think's been copied over here yet. It's here. In particular, see section 12, specifically devoted to stuttering.

One of the guys had a problem with stuttering that had a backglass monitor with a resolution that was not listed on the video rendering options. It usually works best to set the resolution on FP to be the same as the native resolution on both backglass and playfield monitors. There is a way to change the resolution in the registry described here:

@gittinsjr,
FYI-- over the last few days, by playing with settings, I've been able to get most BAM tables to roughly double in speed (from ~30fps to ~60fps), greatly cutting down on stuttering. Turning off vertical sync helped a lot, but there are other things to try. Even just going from camera View1 to View2 helped a lot.

Much of that process can be followed here:

Cheers.

Hello to all, particulary @GeorgeH to put this info on your tutorial.

To avoid stuttering due to backglass, for Nvidia user, you need to set Mutli-dsiplay/mixed-GPU acceleration option on "Multi display performance mode" in Nvida Control panel instead of "Single display performance mode" .

This options was made for hardware acceleration with OpenGL in Multi-Display, and FP use OpenGL.

If this option is not on your Nvidia Control Panel, use NVIDA Profile Inspector instead. You can find it on Guru3D Forum

For AMD user i don't know how to configure it.

Cheers

I have never used "NVIDA Profile Inspector" before. I found this page but it appears to be an earlier version than what you are using:
