I couldn't be happier. The common tale of a guy buying a pin to "restore". Fast forward 5 years, a job, 2 kids and a basement remodel, the still nonoperating machine has got to go.

I'm surprised it didn't get snagged by one of our local buyers. The seller was asking $450 and had someone coming to "look at it" in the morning. I asked if they would take $300 if the other person backs out or didn't show.

The seller contacted me the next morning and agreed to the price and the rest is history. It's in very nice condition and had all of its documents and some repair receipts inside.
It had a couple of issues with start up and a quick cleaning and lube of the ball count unit and they all went away. Now for a good playfield cleaning, a new set of rubbers, flipper covers, and a new ball.
The back glass needs a bit of help and the cabinet needs a bit of paint attention. Nothing major. It appears to have been at in a company breakroom and has never taken money as it's set to free play and the coin door is completely bare on the backside.

It's now registered and accounted for in the serial number data base as a survivor.

The spinning wheel definitely makes this one of the more interesting tables of its era. There's more variables and gameplay with the wheel, IMO.

On a side note, we have two nice VP versions of this game. The first one below has an interesting 'beat up' kind of feel:

Btw, don't forget you already have a thread out there with replies waiting for you:

Gotcha. Video game emulators are my favorite. Xbox had a cool VP game.

Which game would that be? I haven't heard of people running VP on Xbox, but I guess it's possible. More common on Xbox I think would be Zen Pinball and Pinball Arcade (Farsight).

In case you're wondering, VP and FP (Future Pinball) are public domain, whereas those others are commercial. This particular site was founded as a VP site (specialising in flipperless tables) around 17-18 years ago.

You can play hundreds (maybe thousands) of historical pinball machines on your PC (etc) using VP and/or FP for free.

Sorry. Zen. I used VP (virtual pinball) as a generic term.

I assume you meant Zen Studios? Never played their games i'm afraid but they do loko very nice and detailed. I have no clue about physics but even If I'm a Future Pinball fan it is common sense Visual Pinball is way more accurate if you want to replicate what you see in the real table. In which case, Ike's examples should be tried.

Actually, I would like to ear your opinion on the real and virtual versions if you had the time.

The only video pins I've played are from Zen.
I'll have to play a real table on an emulator sometime. Based on the Zen tables I've played. I like the feel of live pinball personally.

True, nothing like the real thing :)

Every simulation / emulation plays differently, but where stuff like VP & FP shines is that you can tweak the tables in countless ways to perform more realistically, or just more how you like... such as in setting the right handicap level.

What VP authors commonly do with games from your era is to power up the flippers somewhat. You might find that preferable on the Triple Action simulations above. I've owned a couple games from around the time of Triple Action, and found the flipper coils to be generally pretty dead-ish and borderline unsatisfying. I think even with brand new coils, that was by design.
