cant use rar files

how do you use the rar files. i guess you need a different program to open them. If someone could run through the procedure I'd appreciate it. thanxs

These are compressed files, like .zip files are.
google winrar and 7zip a couple of programs that will extract them.

It is over 1 meg so had to be uploaded to another site
since the max file size here is under 1 meg

this program will unzip zip files as well as rar's

If you got the 7z920.exe from Sourceforge, then all is good, but be aware that there are hacked versions of 7-zip out there that have adware attached.
If your copy of 7-zip opens with a beeuuutiful GUI with a bunch of come-ones,
then you have the hacked version.

7-zip is an open source project and contains no junk. Also, there are different versions of 7-zip for different systems.

I just zipped it and uploaded it
I know it is a safe file since I use it daily
