Working on a Bally Joust.

The pop bumpers on this machine are not the norm.

First off, aside from the body, everything is metal, even the skirts
No spoon switches

And the coils look like flipper coils with 2 windings. (see attached pix)

Does anyone know why these are so different than the all the others

I have worked on other Bally machines and never seen this.

Any info would be appreciated

Solution
The coils look like flipper coils because they are the same coils used in flippers. Each pop bumper will have a nc end of stroke switch to control the 2nd winding.
Using the same coil as a flipper might have been used as less coils the vendor had to stock and was a strong coil.
Slingshots use a single winding coil though.
Is there some kind of skirt switch there that you can post a pic of?

Solution
Here is a pix of the switch.
Looks like a plain leaf switch. No spoon.

I didn't realize this machine was made in 1969

All the Ballys I worked on were from the mid 70's
They had nothing like this.

Good thing nothing is broken, Don't think these parts are available.
