I saw this on the Nirvana front page and I couldn't vote on it but I would.
My first game of pinball cost 5 cents in 1958. I was 4 years old.
The tables were in a leaky corrogated tin shack in the back of a
Kiddyland Summer Carnival-style amusement park along with my first look at an arcade shooting gallery. It cost 5 cents too.
I can't remember the two tables I played that day by name or manufacturer,
but I remember they were lit up like a Christmas Tree and were designed to return your nickel if you won but
no more than your nickel. It wasn't a payout/gambling setup.
If you continued on until you hit the next winning score then you also earned a Replay.
5 cents wasn't among the choices in the poll!
Folks, you really should go Back to the Future.
