I see that something awesome is happening, i.e. Charles is doing a smashing job of uploading the PSDB tables to PN!

Naturally, my immediate thought is-- let's get them correctly assigned to the proper authors, yeah?

Me, I'd be willing to help research and assign them. Would that be okay?

Unfortunately, Charles uploads table without searching if the table is already on PN...
Concerning my tables, Rocket III and Ten Spot for example.
But nice job.

@Popotte
Ooops!!
I actually have been searching before uploading, but I do make mistakes.

Regarding Ten Spot,
There is a BAM version of your table here, but not a Non-BAM version.
So if there is a BAM version here, I am not to upload the Non Bam version?

I don't think you have to upload the non BAM version, but as you want...

@Popotte
I removed them both.
I may have uploaded some other ones that may have already had a newer version of your table here, so if you see any more that need to be removed, just let me know.

@xenonph
For the moment, it's good. But stop to upload my tables because I'm updating a lot of them.

@Popotte
No problem my friend.
I will not add anymore of your tables to the PinSimDB Archive.
I can delete all the ones I have uploaded already too if that is what you want?
Just let me know.

If any other authors want their tables removed from the PinSimDB Archive, I will gladly respect their wishes.
Just send a message, and it will be taken care of in a diligent and timely manner.
We are not archiving PinSimDB site to start a conflict, or cause any problems.

The only reason I am the one uploading these, is I am the only person who Archived every page of the site before it went down.
All text on each tab, all pics, external links, videos, and everything on each and every page was archived by me.
I actually finished Archiving the site 3 days before it went offline. I spent 13-16 hours a day for 3-4 weeks straight, trying to make sure it all got archived before it went offline.
So that is the only reason I am the one uploading these. (Otherwise it may have been someone else uploading them, possibly somewhere else.)
But I didn't start uploading them here until I was told too.
So it's not like I just decided, "Hey I think I will upload all the PinSimDB tables today."
This was discussed amongst Pinball Nirvana Administrators, the day Alex announced his site was going offline at the end of July.

I have stopped uploading tables to fix the authors problem.
I am currently assigning proper authors names to pages. (About halfway through the list.)
When I can't find authors name registered here, I put "Not Registered" for authors name.
So now the site robot Rock-ola is out of it.

If you have any more problems or suggestions, feel free to share them, so we can work to find solutions.
Thank you for all you have done for this Pinball Community!!
Your work is appreciated.

Thanks again

Xenonph
Site Administrator

EDIT:
I have been uploading these in the same order as they were uploaded on PinSimDB site.
So the oldest tables to newest.
All of the tables I have uploaded of yours are over 12 years old.
As are the rest of everyones tables in the PinSimSB Archive so far, as I am working from oldest to newest.
Like I said, just let me know, and I can remove all of your tables from the PinSimDB Archive, if that is what you wish.

There are 23 tables of yours in the PinSimDB Archive after deleting those 2 tables that you asked to be deleted.
I will not add anymore of your tables to the PinSimDB Archive, and will delete the 23 tables if you want.

First, I didn't know you are Charles.
Second, I'm not sure PinSimDB was up to date (version) concerning my tables
Third, I'm sure than PinSimDB had not all of my tables (more than 65 tables (only Popotte) on IRP)

And finally, many thanks for your great job.
Concerning PinSimDB archive, I don't know if the magnet concerns your archive, but as usual, people DL the tables and after delete the magnet...
Still the same old song, take the money and run...

Thank you so much @Popotte !!!
If you see any more, just let me know.
I changed the Surgical and Paul Bunyan tables to Not Registered.
Although I could not find a double post here for the Super-Flite Greywolf v5.0 table, I still deleted it.
I checked in the regular Future Pinball section, and the new PinSimDB Archive section, and didn't see a double post.
Now there is no Super-Flite table on this site by any authors.

When I come across your tables with only your name as table author, I just move on to the next table like you asked me too.
But when I see your name along with someone elses, I try to determine, if it was someone modding your table, and I try to assign table to them.
You hold a wealth of knowledge about this very subject, which I am lacking in severely. My expertise is not in Future Pinball.
If you see anything out of place, please let me know so I can fix it.

Thanks again!!

EDIT:
You can see exactly what order that the tables are being uploaded by checking Ike's PinSimDB Page Index here..
https://pinballnirvana.com/forums/threads/pinsimdbs-complete-table-index-2-048-tables-total.21571/

I am uploading them in the same order. Oldest to Newest.
I am approximately on page 96 of 137, but haven't checked to see for sure.

It amazes me that every single table that has been added was downloaded 5 to 8 times except a few that were just uploaded today.

There is one that you guys should try is "Psycho Pinball Wild West" that is based on a video game. It is really cool:

Sorry for starting a thread and semi-bailing. I've been busy practicing "Father Figure" (George Michael) for tomorrow night's debut, if all goes well. (Hah! Actually, I've been feeling really unwell lately, but a karaoke singer must keep practicing, however feeble his energy. :s)

As I understand it, @xenonph's (Charles') goal is to hand-upload the entire PSDB table inventory to PN, one of the most ridiculously generous efforts I've seen across the entire pin-sim scene in 21-odd years.

J'ai beaucoup d'estime de toi, JP,
but how about this-- let Charles first get the tables uploaded,
then later, you, me, him, and whoever helpers can make the correct edits, deletions, combinations, attributions and so forth. Sound good?

Point is-- the PSDB database has such a honkingly *huge* lot of tables, that I think it best to let Charles put his talents on the main task, here... that of concentrating on uploads without having to do too much searching around and detective work. Main non..?

---

My main point in this thread was actually to catch the eye of the site runner (hello @JonPurpleHaze), to ask him if I could be added back to the 'recognised authors' group, which was my status before joining the staff for three years, back in late 2019, before retiring to 'vanilla user' a couple months ago.

As stated in the OP, I wouldn't mind helping to trawl behind Charles' uploads, helping assign them to correct author, or making edits / deletions where appropriate. (see Poppette's comments above)

So Jon,
Is good / is no good...?

In an other hand, could it be possible to have (in ressources) the table sorted by name (and by released date as now), because searching a table is very time consuming.
Second request: to have a section for non A to Z table, because 2001 - Gottlieb is in ressources A-D and 4 Roses (Williams - 1962) is in ressources E-J. A little hard to find them, isn't it?

You can click on "Filters" and there are 2 sort options that have pull down menus where you can select "Last Update", "Submission Date", "Title" and a couple of other options. The other sort option has "Ascending" and "Descending". You would want to select both options to do a sort. Xenonph is posting the files starting with the oldest first and so I think "Last Update", "Submission Date" are the same date.

There is not a direct way to do your second request but you could do an "Ascending" by "Title" sort to get all the non-alpha titles at the beginning of the list. Then do a "Descending" by "Title" sort to look at the end of the list where there are no non-alpha characters at the moment. See the screenshot where I clicked on "Filters" on the upper right side of the screen.

Are you sure you don't want Xenonph to upload your tables? You have a lot of tables and don't seem to have much time to spare.

I moved the 4 Roses, and 4 Queens table to the A-D section. (4 Queens was in the Q section.)
Thanks for the info Popotte!!
All of the files with numbers in there name should be in the A-D section now.

Ok I have uploaded all from page 137 to page 78!!
Remember I am uploading these in the same order they were uploaded on PinSimDB site.
(Minus the tables that were already uploaded to Pinball Nirvana, and the tables that were requested not to be uploaded.)
Out of 893 tables, 737 have been uploaded.

77 pages to go!!
I need to restore my computer to factory tonight.
Small break and I will get back to uploading!!
Carry on. :salut:

Thank you for taking the time for doing this. It's a lot of work and it's very much appreciated by many.

As was mentioned before, if any authors don't want their content from PinSimDB posted for any reason, simply let Xenonph or the site admins know.

For any of my uploads on pinsimdb... don't bother reposting them if they are already on Pinball Nirvanna. :) If in doubt, just ask me.

Thanks for the tip.
Are you sure you don't want Xenonph to upload your tables? You have a lot of tables and don't seem to have much time to spare.
First: all my solo tables are on IRP, so it's not a problem to get them,
Second: as they are (very) old tables, I want to (slowly) update them and after post them on obviously IRP and on PN.
Third: but if xenonph want to upload my tables, no problem.

And a last (for the moment) question: why do we have a FP PinSimDB archive and a Future Pinball section?
Because, we have to search in the 2 sections in order to find a table.
Some tables are in both sections and some others not (polygame's tables for example).

Thanks for the tip.

I guess there is no need to post them here since they are on https://irpinball.org/. I performed a search and you have done 78 tables plus of course all the tables where you were a team member! Amazing!

The ones where you were a team member on the newer solid state tables should probably be added though.

@TerryRed
I am only to May of 2013, so these are from 9 years ago. So will be awhile before i get to your masterpieces!!
The great thing about this, is these all have the dates they were uploaded on. (So history is preserved!!)
The first table Orion was uploaded on Oct. 25th 2005!!

@Popotte
I didn't even think to check IRPinball for duplicates. Sorry about that!!
I am fine with doing it how you want it done my friend.
I totally respect your wishes to not upload them.

I am taking a small break tonight, but will get started again as soon as I restore my computer back to factory settings.

I was told to make a special section for the PinSimDB Tables Archive, apart from our regular Future Pinball section.
I may have missed seeing duplicates on this site, as I have been uploading these until I am too tired and ready to sleep.
I guarantee mistakes will be found. I am not perfect.
When I only see a BAM version of table here, I have been uploading the NON-BAM versions.

This thread intrigues me, I have to read it carefully, but it seems that it is related to the closure of pinsim, which unfortunately happened to my regret, and with it many memories of those years spent on that site.

May i ask what happens? why do i see my table in a photo above, and that i see it on the front page published by francisco?

And..... what is this PinSimDB Archive?

Give me some explanation please,thanks

In very short sentence, it's a way to not lose PSDB material.

Not everything will probably be back but at least not all is lost.

Xenonph has been manually uploading the files. He places the name of one of the table developers in the field of the author and the rest of the names go at the beginning of the text field. He probably doesn't know that this is your table and may not have remembered your user ID used to be "Wild".

We will fix it.
