Daffy Duck 2008

Thanks to....

JPH - Thanks Jon for hosting this table and I put it in the wrong section, I tried to do an edit and move it to the Originals folder, but I had to submit that info.

Popotte - I used his Gottlieb apron graphic.
shiva - lane rollovers are shivaEngine2.
JPSalas - Plunger graphics - Bumper techniques, posts, field of view and inclination settings.
Robair - Thanks to Robair for letting me mod his recreation of Gottlieb’s 1966 Subway table into a Daffy Duck table.

Daffy Duck was the second table I ever released and it really needed an update. This table is loaded with Daffy sound waves, including 2 Daffy songs, which play after game 2 & 4. This table also has the AutoPlay feature (Press A) where the game will play itself and actually does a good job of scoring.

This is one of those good old simple tables built on one simple goal, line up the Green and Yellow Daffy lights and then Hit the Center Target for a FREE BALL! This is what Pinball was all about back when it was a successful and thriving business enterprise…. Then came Pong and the dot replaced the silver ball and then someone created a dot muncher and even I was then caught up in the eat the dot world and things were never the same. I still love this type of pintable and I think it would still work today if the old themes were updated and if they were built well, instead of the cheap looking crap that I see from today’s pinball manufacturers.

Now available at Pinball Nirvana....

The even i was caught up and things were never the same comments cracked me up, i played a new prototype of King of Diamonds manufactured by Fabulous Fantasies at the Rochester Gameroom Show last year, it was neat, hope it's back to this years show next month.

Thanks for Daffy Duck!

That new King Of Diamonds table looks awesome!! That's what Stern should be doing.... Recreating classic machines, instead of trying to come up with new themed tables.

Thanks!! I appreciate the comment and I'm always happy to know when someone actually likes my tables. I know what type of table most people like, but I prefer these older style tables, no ramps, small flippers and add-a-balls.... It doesn't get any better then that. :pint:

:welcome1:

Hey bob,

I'm kinda taking a tentative step back into VP after a year or so away...This is a sweet table, probably one of the most amusing tables I've played (mainly because I remember most of the Daffy cartoons the sounds came from, but this is also a very enjoyable game to play).

Take Care and thanks.

Bob;

I recently played this and must say "outstanding"!

I'm more than impressed with this table! I've done a few "originals" but they have always been puzzle games.

The way you used everything here is amazing. I played this for over 4 hours today and LOVED it.

Excellent work Bob. Excellent. I was laughing while playing and it didn't help. That ball sank so fast as I couldn't keep a straight face while playing it :)

d

Only one issue; the left flipper does not show. I played this with an invisible flipper :p

Druidic, This is a VP8 table, so you must have used VP9 to play this version for the flipper to have been missing. First new rule of VP is to play VP8 tables with VP8 and VP9 tables with VP9.

You didn't really need the flippers as you could have pressed the "A" key and the table would have played itself after you launched the ball once. :)

There is a a version at VPF named, "Daffy Duck 2009 VP9" so you can be sure that is for VP9.

I use VP9.07, VP 9.08 only fixed something for cabinets and VP9.09 has many reported problems, it broke some table's triggers and some tables won't register bumper hits with it. I know it has some new features, but I'll wait for a better version to be released.

You might have notice a nice Gottlieb apron in this table, I got it from Popotte, you might want to ask him to use some of his graphics (like the apron in your Gottlieb WIP.

Just getting VP to work with the right settings for your computer is a real chore these days.....

Bob,

You KNOW I cannot go to VPF. I just fixed the older version anyway to run in VP9 and it's just fine. It works great.

As for the apron, it would be nice but then again, I cannot go over to VPF.

I played the "A" key as well and it was neat to watch but I played the game instead. I prefer that.

d

You're right; it is a chore to make VP9.10 work. It's got numerous issues that need to be fixed. I hope they fix this soon!

The table looks like this when I play it..... :) notice the new table graphics, all new image lights, new lane rollovers, new score display at top. Full screen tables are kind of neat and the resolution is really awesome at 1920x1080.
