Guns n roses download help

Hey, i just wanted to know how can i download the guns n roses pinball machine to a disc? I tried to just download it, but it wouldnt work, and when i try opening it, it opens on my notepad wich just shows a bunch of lettering. Im new so i dont know how this works, can someone help me out? I tried this on both tables on here so either table will do. Thanks!!!

At the table downloads just left mouse click onto the table name and the download dialog starts. Chose 'save file' and chose your download folder on your harddisk. Once you have downloaded the file, you have to extract/unzip the file content of the downloaded zip file to your Visual Pinball tables folder, so there is i. e. Guns N Roses (Jamin 1.0).vpt available.

If you're opening the table in Notepad, there's good chance you don't have Visual Pinball installed. Go back to the homepage and check out Phoenixx's Visual Install Pack installer first. (Click the black banner front & center to download it.)

I cant find the folder to save it on, it always opens on the notepad.

every time i save and open it, it says that it cant open file because it is missing dev.bs or something.

You do know that this file is merely the table and that you need the respective programs to run it, dont you?

in order to run a pin off the disk you must also save the actual program VP8 or VP9 also. i did this to bring it to friends and relatives to show them what I'm doing. i had to d/load the full install pack then copy that also onto a disk. From there you copy your pins onto the disk. When you use the disk on another computer you must still first install vp onto that system. these pins are NOT stand-alone programs, they need vp to run. I think that was your question.

I haven't tried this, but ....

VP needs some registry entries to run when you double-click a table, and Vpinmame does also, but ...

If you don't want to install anything on other people's computers, it's very possible that you could install the files using the full installer above on your machine - and then burn the C:\Program Files\Pinball folder and subfolder (after installing the table and rom) to a CD, and then play the game by launching Visual Pinball - Selecting the game from File-Open E:\Tables\GNR_something.vpt and then selecting Table-Play.

I can't say for sure it will work, but it might!!!

No, unfortunately this doesnt work, but i do have the means to make a portable solution which can be run from Read-Only Media and/or an USB Stick, meaning it will be possible to run VPM tables 'installation-less' eventually, but in a specialized form,...

Can somebody please give me the links that can make this thing work? If I follow that, i'm sure I can get it done.

You will also need the table and the ROM file - post back if you can't find those.
