Stride vs. shuffle? seriously... I guess even when trying to write a guide that was supposed to help field officers they couldn't help themselves.

was the 'shuffling' a reference to a habituated kimono gait? although in my limited experience, it seems the walk was / is more typical of women than men. *shrug*

another confusing one is the 'buck-toothed' thing. where did that come from? i've only seen one japanese ever with an overbite, in a kurosawa film.

on a side note, i'm amazed at how readable these old comics still are. i first got into them for the unintentional hilarity factor but for some reason they've held me.
