If I Could Appoint The Next VPF Administrator

How nice it is to see such lively debate about such a lazy subjet. I say lazy, because that's how I see the Admin/Mod situation at VPF. Not lazy as in they aren't active, but lazy in that the rules set and it's application is lazy. The reason for this isn't for me to say, nor is the solution (mostly). My main point would be that there needs to be a clear and decisive head of government which they don't appear to have at the moment. Now that Head could be made up of multiple heads but each one must be able to rule on behalf of the others. If an error in judgement occurs through actions of one then the rest need to act to correct the error in accordance with the rules of the site.RH

Exactly what I feel is needed in a new Admin or Admin pair at vpf. So since this is supposed to be a discussion of people who might be able to do a decent lob in the Asmin role at vpf, and not simply another gripe session, I'll ask again. Who do you think would make a good lead Admin at vpf. I can't think of anyone better than Leon, and I serious in saying that.

Leon has proven he is a man of his convictions, and I doubt he'd be reclutant to take whatever actions he sees fit to maintain the peace. He'd also apply the rules evenly and fairly, and doesn't seem to hold grudges. Like he always, it's only an Internet forum. TMFP would be my 2nd choice, although he seems to be a bit more defensive than I'd like to see.

I'm sure vpf isn't as bad as some of us say, nor as wonderful as others claim, but that isn't the discussion here. The discussion is who would make a good Admin candidate for vpf.

I would have to agree, I am sounding like an AJ fanboy, when in reality I am a Bob fanboy.

My defense of AJ is more likely a defense of myself at work.
I continually have people trying to tell me how I can improve things. And as you know, it is very poor form to tell a customer that they are wrong and would they kindly stick there head up their ass.

AJ has his own life and his own priorities, as long as he keeps VPF on the internet, then I ask nothing more from him.

As for being a moderator, I like to be able to speak my mind, have my own opinions
It would be nice to have an atmosphere at VPF that would encourage the lost ones to return.
A moderator at VPF would need to be above all, the supreme diplomat. Someone able to guide and focus discussion. Someone who understand that they are dealing with adult males (for the most part), that have beliefs and values that are not going to be changed, but at all time to let these same people express their opinions.
Would I be a good choice? I don’t know

You can't just pick an Admin at VPF, unless it would be someone who has already moderated there, like Destruk or Apoc. First you have to be a moderator and then the other admin select you to be an Admin and then I would imagine that AJ OK's the selection.

Leon would suck as Admin, so would you (John) and shiva and PD and me, Kristian might be OK, Stevoz would be ok, but the community would become a commune held together by hugging trees and playing zen golf while quoting Forrest Gump :D TMFP might be OK, but he's beginning to figure the scene out and is probably not as interested as he once was.

The "reason" most of us would suck as Admin is that we have a "mental list" of....

Good list Bob, and day-by=day that list changes for me. I never intended this discussion to end up picking anyone for Admin, it was merely an interesting idea I thought we all could kick around. If we were to toss logic to the wind, I'd suggest Wrench for the job, at least he would keep things interesting, if we could figure out what all his dolls and cartoons meant.

As admin

Leon, because he's been there since I joined and his help in my early days was invaluable to me

marv75, because he's been there for years and his opinion is always his opinion. no favours.

Lachkater, again for his experience but also his dedication to all things VP. he posts in all VPF areas. plus his final comment on this Aristcrat thread http://www.vpforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34289

Or make the three above Mod's and promote Icewarm, Joxer and Destruk.

I was never in trouble there, I was just asked to deal with something I was not going to deal with in the way they wanted me to. If any body would they would be wimps, and I am not a wimp, nor am I shy, nor do I break rules for the fun of it, nor did I rock the boat at VPF. Well, I guess the boat was rockin' but I did not grab it and shake it, I was pushed and pushed back. I asked for months for one post to be edited. It was a post that I responded to and had my response deleted. The Loafer and lio took it upon themselfs to give me the run around, but all ranks of staffers knew the problem and could have fixed it. It is well known that the request to have the other post edited as well came even before my post was deleted. Might just really be that that would not set you off, but I don't believe it.
At any rate, Are you an admin. here, are you not, you could make up for that lost chance, and ban me from here or what ever you mean by handle me. You could delete this post, I don't care, but could act like I do, then what ever.

Yes, I'm in charge here, but we do things differently than the folks at vpf. We have never edited or deleted posts, other than our own once in a while. We also have never and will probably never ban anyone or put them on R/O. Now if someone were to post links to porn or similar stuff, yes, we would edit their post to delete the link, so I can't say we never will. So if the exact same situation had presented itself here, nothing would have came up missing, and you both could have had it out best you could.

Although our only rule is Don't make a fool of yourself, we respect every member, although we don't always agree with them. And I think that our memebers realize that just because we haven't and don't react doesn't mean we won't if the situation required us to do something. So here, you would never get into a ruckus with me or Steve or JPH about unfair treatment, because all the posts would still be here, and you could resolve it for yourself.

At vpf, as merely a member, I just got so dang sick and tired of hearing you go on and on and on and on that I didn't care who was right or wrong, I simply was tired of hearing about it. I fell it was handled poorly at vpf, but I still got sick and tired of your neverending posts about it there. So I would hope that you won't start a similar series of posts here, although if you do, nothing will be done to any of them. As I've said before, I feel that our forum is as close as you'll get to VPFF, except that we all tend to use a bit more common sense.
