The one that gives you a gumball
Hi Jon, I tried to upload these and got a server error, so I'll put them here and you can move them there if you want. I made a VP game with the one playfield pic and maybe I'll add the other playfield to my game as an alternate option in the future.

BTW, anyone can have or use these pics (if someone was wondering)

And John Tilt, take a closer look at the one on the right and you'll see a hole for a double score under the 2 middle cups :) I might see nails for this on the left version, but I wasn't sure.

Interesting, I never noticed that before. Of course, since you had to add up your score with these old games, parents didn't mind you playing for hours, since it helped your math skills. So now I know where the Double came from. And no, the newer version didn't have a Double hole or cup, but many of their later games did. Many of their later games were 4 or 5 in 1 games, with each cup having multiple scoring, such as Put & Take, Pennants, which have different colored set, and baseball, with hits, runs, and outs, besides regular scoring.

Also, notice that the older game have more scrolling, which I like, and that the clowns were redrawn for the game on the left. I've heard that there's a fellow who collects Northwestern bagatelle and mounts them on his walls. Sure wish I knew how to contact him, so I could get a load of first rate images. And the more I play your version, the more I like it. I especially like the music.

But then, I never met a bagatelle I didn't like. I have some other, and better bagatelle images if you want to give it another go.

I knew as I was writing that 1st post, but didn't want to admit it, that those are definitely nails on the left picture under the center cups. These were seperate pics and I just combined them here for uploading, but that gave me a chance for side by side comparisons and it's definately a double score slot. Also why would they call them Double Poosh M Up's anyway if that wasn't a slot for doubling the score, there's even an arrow sort of pointing to the double score.

I am going to change that in my release, so let me know if you see something else.

You're undoubtedly right, Bob. It's been over 45 years since I had the game myself, and I really don't remember there being a Double cup. Now of courde it would have been very small, since it would be sort of a luck or skill shot. The only bad thing about playing bagatelles was having to lift it up and turn it over so the balls would return to the shooting lane for a new game. I don't think the cheap versions weighed that much, but still, it was rough for a little fid to do.

So now I guess I'll have to talk to Eric about updating our version to add a Double Cup. And the more I play your version, the more I like it, Bob.

Version 1.1 of this game is up at VP-Originals. I added the Double Score Hole, I'd say you get it about once in every 10 games, it's just a luck shot. Here's a new screenie...

Nice update there Bob, I'll add it here ASAP, sort of. As small as that double cup is, you're right about it being purely luck. And like I probably said already, if you want to try another bagatelle, I have more and better images, just let me know.
