Junkyard Cats - BAM Edition

Original Table by Brendan Bailey, 2012

BAM Edition mod by TerryRed, 2021

Version 1.1, Dec 24, 2021

Thank you so much Brendan Bailey for supporting this update!

======================================

I wanted to try doing another "quick" update to a classic FP "original" table to bring it up to my own modern day BAM standards, and see how much I could do in 2 days. Dang! What a sweet lightshow this table has... and its so fun!

Brendan Bailey is one...

PinEvent V2 Update Preview!

I'm almost done my PinEvent V2 update for my BAM Edition update to Brendan Bailey's classic "original" Future Pinball table.

Brendan made "everything" on this table himself (sounds, music, art, etc). The excellent sequenced music and voice over events allowed me to add fun animated DOF lighting / PUP videos / animated text, all timed to work together.

If you like what I did with BM66's DOF, you'll love this.

I also updated the table with some fixes, and new 4K textures for the playfield, backglass, etc.

If you like Williams System 11 style tables, you'll love this game!

Coming VERY soon.

TerryRed updated Junkyard Cats (Original) - BAM Edition (PinEvent V2) with a new update entry:

1.2 - PinEvent V2

1.2 - PinEvent V2 update:

- added PinEvent V2 support for DOF, PUP SSF, PUP DMD, PUP Stream and new PuP-Pack
- added smoke's ball rolling (integrated with PinEvent)
- added nano kicker to left ramp scoop to make shots easier (was way too hard without it)
- made various adjustments to table geometry and layout to make it play easier
- added additional ramp blocker surfaces to prevent ball from flying off ramps / scoops
- added new 4K playfield, plastics, backbox textures created from...

Please try using the included FizX 8K ball model zip file, as the table was tuned to work with it (it's a heavier ball, etc). How to do so is described in the Install Instructions as well (its easy).

awesome work @TerryRed this plays like a dream, i never could quite get these to work right but after following your instructions its working like a charm, thank you so much.

Man, I'm on a role!

I uploaded the wrong table file AGAIN!

Previous 1.4 version has some code disabled for testing. This new 1.4 upload is the correct version. Please use the file version last updated on Dec 20 / 2022

TerryRed updated Junkyard Cats (Original) - BAM Edition (PinEvent V2, FizX) with a new update entry:

1.5 - FizX v2.0 and FLEEP sounds update

1.5 update

- updated table and physics to FizX v2.0 (now use 1K ball model zip file)

- updated PinEvent V2 PinMechSound code to support new FizX auto hit events based on PF materials
- added more FLEEP mechanical sounds to support new FizX dynamic ball hit events
- this allows for amazing new dynamic mechanical and SSF sounds for the entire table!

Important! Please Read!

- this update REQUIRES BAM 1.5-357
-
patch both FP and BAM for 4 GB access after updating BAM, to be sure they are both patched
- install the 1K Physics Ball model now! (as default.zip in BAM folder) FizX v2.0 no longer uses the older 8K Physics Ball!
- if using PUP features, you MUST install the NEW PuP-Pack to use with this table, or PUP features won't work!
- if you installed Baller Installer and UPDATED it to the new Jan 2023 update, then you "should" be fully updated and ready for this new table update!

Thanks for this as usual you are awesome. I finally got around to setting up VR on my quest 2 again. It has been over a year or so because of the crosstalk between eyes. I thought I had read somewhere that it was fixed in updated bam. I am still getting the weird cross talk where the ball is higher on one eye then the other randomly. Is there some sort of fix for this for the quest 2? Boy does it look amazing till the ball starts moving. I used this guide of your https://pinballnirvana.com/forums/t...-meta-oculus-quest-1-2-and-rift-rift-s.19916/ I am trying to run opencomposite method using air link/ link . I have closed the steamvr and used the kill file you have in tutorial. It runs on steam vr but I cannot get it to run using the open composite.dll.

I haven't done much on VR for a long while since having my stroke.... but for me Link and Air Link were a PITA to get working well with Quest 2 and FP VR. I was able to get it working well enough doing what I said in that guide.... but many things can happen with both Windows and Oculus updates.

For me, I prefer using Virtual Desktop Wireless with FP in VR. Works excellent for me (using the settings and doing what I say in the guide). Many people don't try that because they dont't want to buy that app.... but for me VD is highly recommended. It much easier to play PC VR with, much quicker to use, has lots of options and features.... you can watch 3d movies with it, etc.

Thanks I will keep trying. I do have Virtual desktop already and I used to use it all the time before air link. I have not touched my vr headset in almost a year either just thought I would try it again. I get a lot of migraines, vertigo, and I have had several mini stroke in last 3 or 4 years. I have been pretty good for a few weeks and thought I would give it another try.
