This has been a long process importing the old Forum information into VBulletin, but i think it's been worth the extra coin. The new Forums need to be tested, please Login and go to your User Control Panel, update Your Profile and change any settings that you'd like.

Welcome to a decent forum JPH. Been telling you for years, it's like comparing a eletromechanical to a modern LED table. They both do the job, but this is far more advanced and far more secure

Yeah shiva,

I decided to try and make the switch after discovering a new program that bridges PostNuke Users with the VBulletin Users. The old PNphpBB forums first had to be imported into VB and that was a pain. We still have a lot of testing and problem fixing going on but even if it doesn't work (the user bridge) as expected, I'm going to keep VB and probably just use a different CMS, which would require a complete overhaul of the main site. That would be a major job but I'm that impressed with VBulletin!

The major reason i didn't consider VB earlier is it's cost but looking back i should have made the jump a few years ago. I actually ran into a post of yours regarding Nuke-VB integration possibilities from a few years ago!

Major drawbacks with PNphpBB was that PostNuke started using PNForum which kinda stymied it's development and I wasn't very impressed with PNForum when i tried it last year. The old Forums were very difficult to upgrade, as you know, it's hacked to hell AND most of those same type of Mods are much easier to install on VB.

I should have listened to you years ago........:color:

Just a couple of comments....

The new forum pages still load very slow, but look great.

The arcade is pretty awesome, those Flash games look pretty good at full screen when you choose to play in a new window.

The Radio and TV is kind of unbelievable, I watched a Dean Martin Variety show on the Comedy Channel, I wish I knew how to record or save it. I didn't have to use any plugins, but I have a media pc. I can record stuff from my cable TV, which I have running into my pc, but I didn't see any way to record streaming video. If anyone knows how, I'd appreciate a heads up.

Orbit is pretty good as well.

Wish the main networks would get on the ball and start streaming. I have had internet TV for a while, but a lot of pretty useless programs.

JPH, VBAdvanced is pretty good as a front end. I'm not up on VB stuff lately, the only problem is I don't think there's a converter for the modules. The Plugin system is p-r-e-t-t-y nice.

I previously downloaded VBAdvanced and also a new one called VBDrupal that looks very promising, I'm really hoping that the Users Bridge works out ok because it would be a huge pain to replace PostNuke.

The current UpDownloads program is working fine but is no longer supported, it was replaced by a different PostNuke module that would actually be a downgrade for the site.

Just in case, I'm testing a VB module that looks pretty good called Downloads II, I'd love to hear about any suggestions or experiences that you might have with VB.

I tried HiDownload, I haven't figured it out yet, this stuff is hard for me to grasp.

I then tried Orbit and so far I figured out how to download copies of the embedded (or whatever they're called) mp3's on Sims On Stage. Thank You shiva!!!!! That is exactly what my daughter and I have been looking for. WooHoo!

Here's the mp3's I was trying to download.... It's a Karaoke site and you record your version of songs, but I wanted my own copy of some of them. Here's me singing Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown :)
