The only legitimate purpose of a mod (IMHO) is 2 remove illegal material - this would include speceffic physical threats, criminal conspiracies, fraud, 'cock-grow' pills & other unrelated spam, etc. from boards. Other than that the content generation process is automated & should B left 2 self-regulate. This ain't China or somethin', or some other countries with no free speech n' stuff. Basically the notion that the function of a mod should B 2 'change the community' or 'direct' is rather counterproductive. It's like pretending U can change people's personalities with a few taps on the 'delte' key or something - silly. It's a long process, & 4 such an essoteric thing as virtual pinball forums, rather wasted energy. Just leave them 2 manage themselves :) That's what I suggest. Eventually trolls will get bored, or ignored. Like on here some ignore me - so what? That's life. There's room 4 everyone here - I wager the entire forum database only occupies a dozen megs or so of code.
