Version 2.1 (February 1, 2009) - "Keep 'em coming!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, so six months have passed yet again - amazing how time flies.
Despite the fact that all major manufaturers are emulated by now, there's
still enough to do to iron out all of the bugs and inaccuracies.

From time to time a few new games show up unexpectedly, like the new batch
coming in from tecnopinball.org in January: three new Juegos Populares games,
also Inder Atleta, and another oddball: Videodens "Break".
Some special greetings go to the makers of that invaluable resource site!

Despite the fact there is NO manual or schematics drawing to work with yet,
we managed to get Break working somehow - Spanish manufacturers were pretty
much fixated on the Z80 cpu and the AY-8910 sound chip, so it wasn't
all that hard really...

Jac van Ham, a rare Dutch manufacturer, joins the club with a game called
"Escape", adding a new CPU (TMS9980-A) to our core at the same time.

Some people contributed by providing new dumps for known bad roms as well:
David Seidman finally managed to get good reads off Black Sheep Squadron.
Jerry Clause re-read the U6 speech rom on Flash Gordon's vocalizer set, so
the hissing and stuttering is gone now.

Thanks to all our contributors, especially to Inkochnito for locating some
very hard to find roms over and over again all those years! What would we
do without you? -- Hmm, a lot more vacation, I guess (just kidding)!

On the emulation side of it, sound was improved for Bally games using the
old "Sounds Plus" sound board, so it plays a few more sounds now.
Also, Gottlieb System80B had another issue with melody playing at game start
which wasn't supposed to happen at all.
In the same vein, Jokerz, Pool Sharks, and Blackwater 100 had their sound
startup issues corrected, meaning that BW100's sound is finally working BTW.

Well, that's basically it. So enjoy our latest feat, and "keep 'em coming!"

Just love playing Flash Gordon, any improvements are greatly appreciated. And I can't wait to hear sounds on BW 100, it's a neat unique table. Thanks Brian and all involved in the new mame.
 
I have just installed PinMame and Visual PinMame 2.1,now pinball launcher does not work,just comes up error loading tables,i have reset the paths etc
 
the same promblem too.... can´t start the tables from pinball launcher... :(
any helps??

It is Visual Pinball 9.1 exe file which is the problem,i will carry on using 8.1 till it is sorted
also with table Champion Pub the skipping rope just keeps going round and round,its ok tith 8.1 exe

VP 9.0 isn't fully backwards compatible with existing tables, nor is it likely to be with any newer versions. The incompatibilities may cause strange things like your jump rope issue, but that won't make VPM not run correctly.
 
Does it address the drum issue in "Rock!"? It's where when you start the table, the drums start immediately before you start the game.

The drums don't start when you start a game here - the bass starts, the drums kick in later with this VPM. If you run "Rock" in vp9 or 9.0.1, rock has a script mistake. Flippers do not have slingshots and they aren't bumper objects, so comment out the vpmNudge.TiltObj line.

' vpmNudge.TiltObj = Array(RightFlipper,LeftFlipper,Flipper1,Flipper2)

or you can replace it with

vpmNudge.TiltObj = Array(SW41Ab,SW41Aa,Wall3,SW41Cc,SW41Cd,SW41Ca,SW41Cb,SW41Bb)

That shouldn't have ever worked, but vp8 and below ignore most commands that would cause an error.
 
Thanks PM team great release as always! I will too wait on the vp 9.x .exe and see what pans out there! Long Live VP/VPM! :)
 
The file load/play switch was changed for 9.x.
change:
"VPinball.exe" /Play -"%1"
to
"VPinball.exe" /Play "%1"

If VPMan or your frontend allows for that modification, then you are good to go.

blackwater 100 is NOT in the PN downloads! where can I find this pin?
 
Blackwater is in the FTP that JPH set up for a some of us to upload tables here, but it looks like he hasn't gotten to sorting through them yet. Can you add this one Jon? (blackwater_100_10.zip)
