Portable Games?

This might be a stupid question, but can I download my games to a flash drive or portable hard drive and play them at a friends house who doesn't have vp or vpm?? What if I install it on the portable hard drive/flash drive?

No that won't work, the host computer will need to have VP and vpinmame installed.

I can still use them to save my game collection if something happens to my computer though, right?

Sure you can, actually I have a 16BG usb stick on my key ring and have used it to install VP and vpinmame with the VIP package and tables to a friends computer in the past.

I also have saved pins in email attachments since I can't afford a zip file or anything like that just save it as an email don't send it out or anything. this way you can always have access to it at ANY computer

As far as I know you dont need a paypal account any more to use it. you can use any credit card with it now. In the past you had to have a paypal card but that is not the case anymore.

To get more technical on you, with 99% of the games out there this wont work.
You can stick an .iso (CD / DVD image[COLOR=blue ! important][COLOR=blue ! important][COLOR=blue ! important][/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR]) onto a USB drive and mount it using a virtual drive like daemon tools but all this will do is emulate sticking a CD in the physical drive, possibly bypassing admin rights but you should run into permissions again when it asks you to install the program. Other than that you are looking at copying the CD folders over to a c:\program files\xxxx directory and hoping that the game doesnt require any local files eg DirectX I cant think of a single game that can run standalone off the top of my head, and i imagine that HL you got would have been specifically modified due to demand.
