Hi!
I really love the ProPinball series and own all of them. My problem is that the performance is rather random. I have WinXP SP3. A year ago Fantastic Journey ran perfectly. Now I formatted my computer and installed the game but the performance is not good. I own a DVD-box of Fantastic Journey, a double-DVD "Solid games" with Timeshock and Big Race USA and an old version of The Web on CD.
I installed the tables with full installations and applied the latest patches.
Timeshock: everything's fine
Fantastic Journey: every approx. 4 seconds the ball slightly lags
Big Race USA: same as for Fantastic Journey plus the music sounds a bit distorted
I used to have problems with Timeshock, too...I even had to rip the image of the original CD to remove lag because of the music streaming from the CD...but now the table's great and I can use the original CD.
I tried the same for Big Race USA but the sound is always slightly distorted...like old radio or something like that.
I run all tables in Win98 mode, I tried different music settings, I disabled my anti-virus software but still Fantastic Journey and Big Race USA don't run that well. Any ideas?
Oh, and The Web is way too fast. I installed a tool to slow the cpu down but than it lags...any way to play The Web?
