Is changing a files properties using windows options to unlock a trial game illegal ?

If a said person knew of a windows made (properties (make read only and untick hidden)) that unlocked every free game trial on a site of 100's games, would that person be breaking the law in any way?? By simply right clicking on an icon, selecting properties, unticking hidden and making it read only would that be breaking the law?

What do you think ??

I should point out, THERE IS NO FORM OF SERIAL, PATCH ETC. Just a right click property change.
 
Jay walking is illegal as is this, chances of being answerable to such close to zero, I'd chance it myself, with next to nothing to lose.
