What the heck d'ya need to run this thing properly . . .

I have only a poxy old Pentium 4 3 ghz cpu with 1gig of DDR and a recently installed 8600GT with I gb mem . . .but . . .

. . .I can run Quake 4 with everything on but FP runs like a yak turd attached to a sack of doorknobs . . .

. . .what gives ??

I know I've not paid much attention to FP in the past but this is bloody ridiculous.

in the editor window, click the preferences option, then video / rendering options.

mess with the various settings in there and you might be able to get something that works.

i have a lesser machine than you, but i have everything maxed and it runs fine.

so who knows maybe tweak it up ... down ... something has to get ya going.

I found getting FP running well to be exciting. It was not until it was and I started playing that the disappointment came.

FP does not run at all here

Y'know it used to just last week, then I swapped hard drives, d/loaded it again, and it doesn't work at all. it just keeps on crashing to desktop. so I just use VP now, since it's working just fine. I can't figure it out, it's not the video preferences, it doesn't even load FP all the way. oh well, I still have VP

Yeah well . . .I suppose if I got rid of the 50 gig of porn on me hard-drive . . .

FP crashes constantly on my computer

I tried uninstalling it and redoing it, but no luck. It used to run on my 80G drive, but when that went last week, I was forced to replace it with a 40G drive system. because of this (i'm guessing) FP constantly crashes to desktop, it tells me that windows is in 16-bit mode, when in fact it's in 24-bit mode. Nothing I try seems to work! I've given up and just stay with VP which runs perfectly! I like the physics in VP better. the tables seem more real somehow, but it may be just personal opinion. So, I'll stay here for the info I pick up, but no more trying to learn FP, since it doesn't work anyhow!
So, on to learning VP (gulp)
