Having run a few tests, I've decided to release a full version of my roulette game, unlocked so you can all poke around in my dodgy code. I've uploaded to this site, so I guess I'll just wait to see when it appears.

If you haven't seen it before, it's an original flipperless bagatelle type game based on a roulette wheel. There are over 100 different bets to choose from (ok, so lots of them are just numbers but hey, it's still a lot of choice), and lots of nice details like real chips and an analogue timer. Hope you enjoy it...

very cool! You're breaking new ground with this simulator. I don't remember there being a table quite like it before.

wow, i love it. be sure to upload it to VPO also and post a thread about it at VPF so that more people can see it.

i hope you continue with your good ideas. (author of a pool simulator myself in VP)

thanks guys. What are those other sites? I will upload to them but I don't know them. I'm pretty new on the scene to be honest. I've always loved pinball, and been an amateur coder for many years, so it's been nice to combine the two. I'll be releasing a nice set of my demos at some point, and I still have a few nice tricks up my sleeve.

P.S I'd like to see that Pool simulator, I was toying with that as an idea myself. The only thing that concerned me was how the balls seem to 'drift'.

P.P.S I just realised I already know about VPO. Doh. Will look into the other one though.

cool, highrise. VPF is basically the flagship site in the scene, specialising in VPM tables, while VPO specialises in original tables.

here's the VPF thread which contains the pool simulator (downloadable as an attachment):
http://vpforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23124

feel free to modify or do whatever you like with the table. btw, if by 'drift' you mean 'roll longer than you want' i fixed that by faking up some friction (it's adjustable in the tables control panel). what i never fixed was the aiming system- well, you'll see. :s

Just checked and we also have your ball FX in our Tutorials And Support Files section. That one had some cool ball idea which I wish you would have developed further.

the giant ball was started by simeon, continued by me, and finished by PK and used in circus voltaire.
the orbiting ball was released finished.
the halo ball had a small bug that i think was fixed long ago.
the only other one was the ball-trails- is that the one you mean?

It's been a while so I didn't realize that the orbiting ball was finished. That one and the ball trails were really neat. I wouldn't be surprised if your ball FX doesn't inspire Highrise in a new direction.
