I have an all in one printer/scanner(HP 4100) and want to know how to scan pictures I took several years ago to put on a digital picture frame. When I scan a 4 x 6 picture, It appears in the lower corner of a 8 1/2 x 11 picture, with the rest of the page blank. I then have to crop it in my image editing software. Is there an easier way?

You can get different software. If it allows you to select the scan area or autocrop that's what you need.
 
I got it figured out. Thanks anyway for the tip.
