Yes, I'm finally back. I've been browsing the forums and it looks like you people have been busy! It has been a very busy past few months for me. I want to thank all of you that contacted me to check on me. It means a lot!
About the time I left, my husband had nose surgery. His nasal passages were blocked about 95%, so surgery was his only option. He has recovered nicely and I know he hasn't been able to breathe this well for years!
For two years I've been having a lot of difficulties with what I thought was tendonitis and/or arthritis in my elbows. Unfortunately, the standard treatments were not helping at all. I was getting frustrated because none of the medications or therapies were helping and the pain kept getting worse. Fortunately, I ended up being referred to a surgeon whose specialty was hand and arm surgery. He listened to my description of the problem and after an MRI, I was told that I had some excess fluid that should have been absorbed by my body years ago and never was. This fluid solidified and was causing pain every time I moved my arm. I had surgery to remove the "stuff" in my right elbow, and I'm ever so glad I did. It turned out to be a little more extensive than the doctor thought from the MRI and the stuff was large enough that he ended up having to go into the elbow from both sides and clean it out. After clearing it out, he even saw that this stuff had been rubbing against a bone and had begun to wear a groove in the elbow. Normally, the recovery time for something like this is about 1-2 weeks, but with the bone groove, my recovery time expanded to 6-8 weeks. Fortunately, it was not on a weight bearing joint, otherwise I'd probably be stuck with crutches or a wheelchair for the rest of my life. Now I have to recover sufficiently so I can have the same surgery done to the other elbow--yes, it was found in both elbows
I've only just recently been released from my computer/typing/keyboard restrictions.
Now that the end of the fiscal year at work has finished, I'm not working 50-60 hours a week and can finally enjoy a game or three of pinball!
