Should Bob Be A Moderator?

If you would be so kind as to explain your vote, I would really appreciate it, as this could effect the rest of my internet life. I went with the simple "Yes" or "No" choices to force a decision. I don't really see myself as the moderating type, I'm more the protector of the little man and full of BS type.

I now put my fate into the hands of the voters. . . . Yes, that's right, this poll is actually a real vote, your vote counts. And I can't stuff the ballot box, because I know nothing about this program, I couldn't edit or move a thread if I wanted to. :)

Surprise.......I am one of those Yesses......

I think you are EXACTLY what we need in some of these moerator-sensitive subjects.......

You know who you are and what you find acceptable.......We know as well

BUT most importantly.........You don't take crap......I know we don't have any crap happening here at TMOF yet but when we do we need a moderator who is there with bells on and not shy in being brutally honest.

Jon and John wouldn't have you in the role already if you weren't held in high regard by them.....

I have to say that I tend to trust where there is trust earned and by virtue of actions I think that, so far, ALL members of TMOF have trust on their side..

SO, be what you wish to be but even if this poll came back negative it is really YOUR decision to make.

You have my vote anyhow......

Obviously I voted yes, and that yes doesn't carry any more or less impact than any other vote. Maybe I can help you decide by telling you why I wanted you, Steve, and Druadic as moderators. I don't expect any problems, but I also have to be prepared in case there are some. I don't want moderators who will take things personally, delete posts, or close threads. I want moderators who aren't looking for trouble, but who won't be afraid to take action if trouble pops up. And I wanted modereators who could do what might be needed without making enemies. Hopefully none of us will have much moderating to do. So, yes, my vote was yes, because you'll be able to put a humorous, human spin on things.

And I used I instead of we, although Jon and I are in charge, because I can only speak for myself. Jon doesn't need me putting words into his mouth.

I voted yes. Moderators should always have a sense of humor. Some "moderators" take themselves and Internet WAY too seriously.
I don't think Bob takes anything (that goes on the pinball forums) very seriously which is just a good thing. Nobody's life shouldn't revolve around VP and the forums anyway. It's just a nice hobby.

I think we (VP community) already had our share with bad moderators. There are STILL some rotten moderators left at VP Forums, which is the main reason lots of people don't want to go there anymore, including me. I know John means good with his question "Can the community be healed", etc. But Pacdude's and Rodgz's *continuing* (and UNJUSTIFIED) bannings WILL keep the bad blood alive, you can count on that.

Personally, I think the community would have been died without VPFF. At least it's safe to say that lots of VPM tables would have never seen the daylight without VPFF. BJ, Kid Charlemagne, Kinsey and others tried their best to kill and destroy everything from us. What happened at VPF last Nov-Dec was almost an inquisition, I've never seen such destructive and utterly pathetic behaviour by forum moderators ANYWHERE on the Internet. Banning people because they disagree with eachother - or express their differing opinions about rules and guidelines (and then even bald faced LYING to the rest of the community about the bannings) was OUTRAGEOUS crap.

But it's great that the community survived - and perhaps grew even stronger, older and wiser after these incidents. Bob being a moderator here is just further proof of that. I think it's hilarious and proves
that you guys at least have a sense of humor. :)

I wish this forum luck. I don't think I have that much time to post to two forums but I try to keep up with the discussions here as well.

I'm too much of a tech zero to know how to tamper with a poll, Bob. If I could, I probably would have added a few my joke choices, such as:

Yes, but he's more confounding than amazing.

No, not unless he removes his mask.

Maybe . . . now what was that question again?

And

Who cares, I'm too busy laughing at his dumb jokes.

So your cut and dried poll means you're perfect for the job, since you know when to joke and when not to joke, and that in itself is funny.
