Hi all!

Still it's not sunday :), but here comes Speakeasy.

This is also a 5 days table, and it is quite dark, since the picture I got was quite dark (taken from the flyer, and I got a few good scans). There were a few pictures on the IPDB but they were not big enough, and I didn't want to draw to much by hand in photoshop.

I have used the script from Gerhard as a base, and all of the roulette and fly targets routines are his routines.

It is a good table to add some lights. I tried to do that in photoshop but it looked terrible. So until I learn how to add lights, the table will be like it is now.

Use the dip switch routine (F6), by Inkochnito, to adjust the game.
Use the "A" key to activate the "sacrifice" button.
Press "R" for rules.

You're unstoppable!! This is excellent.... great improvement. Thank you very much.

But is the PinMame behaviour correct in this one? You get endless amount of extra balls when you complete the 5 triggers (cards) on the upper playfield. Makes the game very, very easy. I checked the dips and this doesn't seem to be settable.

Have you tried the mystical lighting plugin? I haven't, but I'm about to. It has a limited time function, so if you are going to try it then download it when you have time to learn it, unless you buy it of course, but at the price it is I would have to try and like it a great deal. I don't think it is much too dark, there is some white in the graphic, which is good, good that it is not grey. Speaking of that, it is best to look over the source graphics and see what the whitest white is and not go brighter than that, the flippers look too white, they are usually the dingiest part, that and the rubber bands. The bands look darker though. The plunger view cutout looks too big too but other than that few seconds of work, it looks great.

Here's a good idea of the improvement.

Not to mention that the roulette finally works now. Great table.

I still wonder why it gives those continuous extra balls. Usually Ballys from this era give only one or two extras per game and that's it...

Another fine job, JP! Really love the roulette wheel, nicely done. Thanks!!:)

I used most of the original script, and I only updated some parts and removed the test code. I also think it is strange to give so many extra balls. Maybe there is a light or solenoid with the wrong number and it gets activated.

I see that the roulette sometimes it doesn't give the right points, maybe the extra balls comes also from the roulette code. I haven't touched the roulette code, but I see that I need to do that to find out if the values are correct.

Perhaps Destruk can take a quick look at it?

I'm sure it shouldn't give so many extra balls. It's just weird.

I have the mystical plugin. It really wouldn't do much for very dark images, I thought it could do nice lighting effects, but not really as it turned out.

Yeah, the flyer image is very bad, way too dark. I use to play this, and have seen a image in books, and it was a lot lighter, very much in the style of Eight ball Champ.

Yeah, give it to Destruk, he needs something to do, he's starting to run out of new games to translate, and he's starting to get grouchy. :)

Updated to 1.1

New in this version:

-Backdrop LED display, taken from Pacdudes routines, added by DJSpeedy.
-Added some lights to the playfield, so it looks "by night", ok, it nearly looks "ny night"
-Adjusted spinning wheel, so it stops faster, about half the time it used to.

About the extra balls: in the manual is written that the table will give so many extra balls:

"Liting 5-9 or 9-5 in sequence awards 2 extra balls..."
"Making 10 trhu Ace in sequence awards extra ball..."
"Liting 4 jokers awards an extra ball also 5000 points for each lit joker"

So it looks like the table is ok, it just gives that many extra balls.

heh...maybe it should be a redemption machine? Everything scores a TICKET!!!

Thanks for updating this jpsalas. I'm not grouchy anymore...just patiently waiting for us to have a new vpm so I can release my fury of tables...hehe

So....it's possible to play this table continuously for like 48 hours.....why oh why I never realized when this was available at the arcades. Amazing.

Thanks for the update JP.

Thanks for release,jpsalas. :thumright:
Finally somebody cleaned it up.

Update!

I have updated Speakeasy (Bally 1982 - 2 players) to version 2.0.

New in this version: just about everything!

- New graphics, redrawn by hand.
- New layout, with the new roulette and bumpers.
- Fixed some layout errors.
- New sounds.

Thanks to the following people who indirectly helped me with this version:

- Roulette and Flying Targets script based on Germax script.
- Light and Solenoid numbers also from Germax script.
- LED display based on Eala's script.
- Fading lights based on PacDudes's script.
- Dipswitches by Inkochnito.

Here are two pictures, one from the old table and one from the new one, so you can compare them side by side.

RE: Update!

You are wellcome Petri. This was the only table I have done that I felt it could use better graphics. Now I'm happy with it.
