Strawberry jam time

Cleaned two 5 kg boxes strawberries together with
my mom.Now waitig for the jam to be prepared and
jared later tonight.Tastes of summer preserved for winter.
YUMMY! :) Blueberries are also soon ready to pick
at forests...Need to check the old places at some weekend.

How do you preserve the strawberries? Do you use corn syrup or real sugar with added citric acid, or do you use a sweet fruit juice concentrate for sugar?

I used to eat wild strawberries picked fresh from the hills where my Grandparents lived, mind you, with no sugar they are Not sweet, but with the flavor it didn't matter. Now on the other hand, if you can find wild sweet raspberries, there are few things in life as sweet as ripe wild raspberries, but I remember having to fight off the wild birds to get any at all.

1.Take a heck of a big kettle
2.Clean strawberries by taking the green plant part off
and cut them half.
3.Pour them to the kettle 2l.berries/½ kg sugar,until the kettle is
almost full.
4.If you use jam sugar.the jam will be even better.
5.Let the stuff get juicy in kettle few hours.
6.Cook the stuff to jam and put them to cleaned jars.
7.On the next day take the jars to cellar/chilly room for waiting winter.

Enjoy the jam with pancakes,thin pancakes,wheat buns,vanilla ice cream.....
FYI.Some people likes to freeze the strawberries.I don't.I'd freeze rather blueberries and raspberries.

No.I'm talking about 2 litres of berries and ½ kg of sugar.

Ahh, so not all the berries were used for jam. How many canning jars? Sounds like only 1 or 2 large ones.

I ment to add berries and sugar,until the kettle is almost full.I used about 8-9 kg berries
to jam.It took 1 big and 1 minor kettle.got 15 normal sized jars.
rest of the berries went to little strawberry cake with whipped cream
and now with vanilla ice cream.
