Hi,

I am experimenting to see if I get VP working on a 42" HDTV for the playfield and a 19" monitor for the backglass. I have the HDTV set 90 degrees from the control panel. With Back to the Future, the game is playable but the playfield and backglass are on one screen with the playfield stretched out. This is with a 16:9 version I found online. How do I get the backglass and playfield separate? I install VP with the install pack and selected full screen in pinmame. I have a nvidia 8800GTX card.

Pinbot gave me a different error "Object does not support Ramp5.collidable"

Update - I deselected full screen in pinmame and selected full screen in VP and got this problem

Thanks for the help

Ok, thanks. I gave it a quick try on my lunch break and it gave me an Active X error . I just d/led the 9.0.2 file off here and overwrote the executable already there. If there was more I need to do, please let me know. I originally installed the VP Install pack, 2.1 I think. Thanks

edit: The Active X error came up after trying loading and running the BTTF table that worked on one screen before updating.

edit 2 : I reinstalled Pinmame and I think I am really close now. The playfield is now the only thing on the HDTV (oriented wrong, but I'll play with that) but the dmd is no where to be found.

Most of VP8 and VP9 tables aren't compatible. This is, you can't play a VP8 table in VP9 and viceversa. Ok, some tables may do work, but most of the tables don't. So keep both .exe files, VP8 for playing VP8 tables and VP9 for playing newer tables made for this VP9. Confused? Actually VP9 is the version found in the Ultracade machines which were tweaked for running on those machines. If your PC hardware is similar to those Ultracade machines then VP9 will run fine, otherwise there will be errors.

Good to know. Thanks. BTTF is playable, but the only way I can make it oriented on the side I want is to rotate the display 180 degrees leaving mouse activity a very fun experience. I did find the box for the DMD and was able to drag it over to the secondary monitor, but it's completely black. I'll give a few more tables to see if it's just a BTTF thing.

edit : Other tables have the same problem. Also worthy of note is my backglass is completely missing in action. Is there a version of pinmame you recommend with VB9?

I am officially stuck. In a nutshhell, this is what happens on multiple tables.

VP8.1 - Playfield and backglass are on the same screen. DMD works perfect however

VP9 - Playfield is on the main monitor as it should. DMD is just a black square and the backglass is missing in action.

Thanks again for the help

I'm closer still! I now have the DMD working on the 2nd screen but it's by itself. Now I just need to figure why the backglass does not appear on the 2nd screen and I'm set. Any help would be appreciated.

The NanoTech executables (8.1 and 9.0.2) do come with the VIP too.

They are in the folder named - well - NanoTech Executables. (What a surprise!) :birthdayboy:

In case you want to restore the overwritten original executable you can do a Repair Installation. To do that just run the VIP setup again and choose the repair option. This will restore all the files that originally came with the VIP, which means this can not only be used in the case of inadvertent file deletion, but also in the case of files being corrupted, etcetera,...

Does MAC even support a dual screen setup? I've just never seen a mac with two displays connected. What do Apple Certified Support Professionals have to say about it?
