VP-Originals ?What's Up?

Anyone have a heads up on what's happening at VP-Originals? The last couple of days, all I get is a massage saying, "Temporary site closure. Check back tomorrow."

Yes, it is strange that suddenly happened with no notification of the closure. Not sure if something happened in the backend or something like that but its definitely been more than a day.

I have no idea why it's closed. I wasnt online the day it was closed. I have two topic replys to threads in my email though, that I cant check. It says closed temporary, so I'm sure it will be back. It's a mystery to me and the first time P-O has been closed that I can recall. Strange Indeed.

This is taking longer than we expected.

We have had multiple permissions errors in the PHP of the site as well as numerous interface glitches. Our Junior Admin panel, which allows access to forum and member details has crashed and will not restore so we are making the relevent changes manually through the admin panel and via FTP. Also, after having many spamming issues lately related to news and announcement threads the whole site is in need of some drastic overhauling and new security measures.

There will be some changes to the site as far as maintenance and control are concerned but the general appearance of the site will not change. You may see some things which didn't work properly before working now and other new items in place.

There is no point in going into the details here but let's just say, it's been a lot of work and my brain is just about fried. Give us a little more time and I can safely say that we'll be back up by the weekend. You can't rush these things.

This situation is unlike our move to the new server a while back in that we could work on the new while the old still functioned. Anyone who has worked on sites will know that our two hour turn around on that move was actually a couple of weeks of behind the scenes work. This is harder in that we have to rebuild the actual site while it remains on the server in use.

Thanks for the understanding and concern but all will be OK in the end.

Oh and BTW, Tii, The Armadillo Roundup wasn't too successful. We only managed to find one Armadillo but we did get four frogs, five spiders and three snakes for our collection.

That's okay Rockinghorse, we were just confused as there was no announcement of the closure and seemed sudden is all. Glad to see it was a planned thing and I appreciate you letting us know what is going on and I hope you get it sorted out as soon as you possibly can.
