The Visual Pinball Webring has been upgraded and is now the Pinball Emulation Webring, it was changed to include FP sites and the Navigation Image needs a makeover!

I'm still working on the upgraded program and code (webmasters will receive an email) but i need a different Image, look at the very bottom of this page for an example, this is the image that needs to be replaced:

vptitle1.gif

We need a different image, i was going to try and combine VP's logo with Future Pinball's but that might be too hard to make it attractive on any website. My next idea was to use many silverballs and "Pinball Emulation Webring" text in the image. Kindly post any ideas or images in this thread, i don't have time to make a new image and it would suck compared to yours!
:zombie:

Why not use your Pinball cuties and turn the Nirvana of Pinball Nirvana into Emulation. Big Blue did the Pinball Nirvana for us, I'd think he's be willing to alter it for you.

John

Like this? I lost the psd file and don't have the font anymore (banffplain) but not hard to rebuild. If anyone has the font, I can change it easy enough. I do have a busy period ahead of me though, but this is very simple.

Isn't it pinball SIMULATION, not emulation though.... VPM is mostly emulation; the rest is simulation (including VP itself and all FP tables).

Nice work Big Blue, but as for the second line, maybe Pinball Spanning The Centuries, since our earliest recreation dates to 1875, as well and ones from 1903 and 1904. And you're probably right about Emulation versus Simulation, but I think Emulation sounds a bit classier.

Bagatelle in one form or another dates back to the 1830s, although a cue-type rod was used to propel the balls. The 1875 Antique Victorian Bagatelle is the 3nd table on this page:

Bet you never expected to get a mini history lesson during a school break, did you? And no, I didn't play that 1875 bagatelle when it was new. :p

John

Thanks for the image shiva! :thumleft:
I'll insert it and see what it looks like.

Pacdude, yeah I thought about naming it "Pinball Simulation/Emulation Webring" but thought the name was too large, i could change it but there are lots of entries i'd need to do over.
I'd like to know others opinions about the name because it will be much more difficult to change later.

I made one, but it's probably to dang big to use.

NP, but if you want changes to the text, decide and tell me soon, as I have commited to a project starting new years, and could be gone or very hard to get ahold of for quite a while.

Yours is cool Lionheart, but I really like the one based on the pinball cuties. But as I already mentioned, I'd like to see the tag line changed to Pinball Spanning The Centuries, which should fit.Pinball For The New Millenium seems to overlook the history and lore of pinball. There's more than enough focus on modern pins, Pinball Spanning The Centuries might entice folks to try games form different eras rather then just the 90s and beyond.

John

I'd get rid of "Pinball For The New Millenium" and just have your title with "The Web Ring" at the bottom.

Pinball Simulation
The Web Ring

This would then resemble the Pinball Nirvana logo.

I don't like how that one by lionheart88 has VP faded out like it's on its way out and Future Pinball is the wave of the future. I'm sure Black would love that, but it's not true, IMO.

I like Bob's idea. Both VP & FP are potentially transitory and new things could come along plus we discuss other simulations like ProPinball, etc. Pinball Simulation works for me.

Yeah, although it wasn't meant that way, I see what you're saying, I just did it quick and wanted the VP & FP words to look different.

get it sorted out, and then I will make a new image with the proper byline. It's a very busy time for me now, so decide exactly what you want please, as I will be gone for a extended period of time and may not log in for a while.

If you want the old font Jont, I lost it with my hard drive crash, but it's "baniffplain" so if you or anyone else has it, just attach

Disclaimer: The following is possibly a slight but definable and altogether unlikely variation from the actual events, times, and dates of Tiltjlp's life.

No, Of course you didn't. Everyone knows you were far too busy that year working on the constitution for the state of Alabama! you can be clearly seen standing in the front row, on the right, of this photograph of the delegates, holding your beloved feline companion under your arm!

Therefore it was at least three years later that you finally had the spare time to go and hunt out one of the new fangled things. And by then it was warn out, being situated in a burlesque house in a frontier town, the poor machine had not been maintained well. It was a very sad thing.

I've decided to implement the name of Pinball Simulation Webring and have made most of the changes, thanks for the image lionheart88!

We can probably use several images and just let the webmasters choose which one they want on their site.

You have not only too much time on your hands, but also a creative imagination. I have never been to Alabama, although in my younger days I did go to a local burlesque house once. The comics were funnier than the performing ladies were lovely, and the place was so run down I'm surprised I didn't contract a serious illness. And yes, I still miss my beloved feline companion. Sarah Lee will be gone 3 years February 7th. :(

Another one.
The problem is the chick, as dropping it in size means loss of image quality, so the easy solution was make it bigger in the picture after running a couple filters to try and keep it sharp.

Not the exact size of the orginal logo, but can scale down. Only room for one chick though. Nice and simple graphic, actually smaller than the orginal in file size

Very nice logo Big Blue. Looks like Jon has adopted it as the official Web Ring logo. Thanks for all your help.

John

Thanks again, shiva!

It looks nice, I added it to some pages, scroll to the bottom of this page to see it in action. If anyone wants to submit images, keep them coming because we can offer different images for webmasters to use.

Ok then, here's my entry. Use it (or don't) in any way you see fit...

Nice, ghostface. The light next to "the" stands out a bit and looks misplacd, though. What machine is that in the background?

I suppose it's more of a "what do you think of this style" image more than anything else (even though I kind of liked how it came out), since I'm really not quite sure what Jon's looking for. It's easy to make changes if needed.

The table is Attack From Mars, the light you're referring to is the "I" in MARTIAN.
