About VP 9.0.3

Hi,

I downloaded the zip file of VP 9.0.3, unzipped it into my desktop and now I have a folder with the VP 9.0.3 executable: I launch it with administrator rights (Vista home premium is my o.s.) and all works fine.
My question is this: into the unzipped folder I found the vp9 executable and another file called "msvcr71.dll"........what can I do with this file? Should copy it into another folder in my harddisk? Should leave it into the original folder?

You have 2 choice.
Let those files in the same folder, with the VP9 exe. OR
(I'm XP user), if I copy those Library files to the C:\Windows\System32 folder and then remove the file from VP9 exe. folder, it is still works.
I don't know the file structure of Vista, But maybe it is nearly the same.
Make backup from your files before the action.:)

Hi,
Windows has a hierarchy of paths where it looks for .dll and other system files. If it doesn't find a necessary file at the first place it will go down the paths' list until it finds it, or gives an error when it doesn't find it at all.
There can be many versions of the same dll in different folders, depending on how many s/w installations you made and how Windows-compliant these installers were (try to search for it...). If you want to make sure that Windows uses a certain version you should put that one into the folder of the application that uses the .dll, as that's normally the first place for Windows to look it up.
