Williams Big Ben (Williams, 1975) problems

hi all hope someone can help with a fault on my pinball its a 1975 williams big ben, had the fault once before and it cleared itself now its back, the trouble is when you put a game on the score resets and that's it still says game over and no ball comes out flippers don't work. if you try to put another game on the latch relay just buzzes ?.
any help will be great thanks.

when you try to start a game do you use the credit button or the coin door? does the machine try to reset the score reels? do you have a schematic for your machine? do you understand how to read it? if not it can be downloaded and printed out from the pinball database.

if you don't play it on a regular basis you're going to have this stuff happen. prepare to clean / reposition some leaf switches. :)

use door switch score reels reset then nothing still says game over got schematic and can reed it

the manual has some good info on sequence of operation reset cycle (one of the first pages in the manual). this problem is usually in the ball count unit. if it doesn't reset back to zero position the reset cycle wont continue. check manual operation of step-up and step-down coil plungers. sluggish operation from old lube on wiping disc and unit pivot points will cause problems. both the wiping disc and the unit zero position switch are involved in the reset cycle. the ball count unit should be in the head , top left corner. the smaller unit next to it is for the match. also check for proper switch/relay operation of the game latch-trip relay, game over relay(both just behind the transformer), and the coin relay. lightly file clean switches and adjust blades if needed for proper operation.
