Gottlieb Big mistake need help

I hooked up my cpu to driverboad cable upside down and my new ni wupf board lit up like a Christmas tree.

It looks like I might be able to replace the u5n chip and still be able to salvage the board. I know this is a newb mistake but I could really use some advice. Here are some pics of the devastation.

EDIT: Also are my connectors wired properly? Is there a color coded diagram someone can link me to? I was unable to find one. Srry there was alot of wires to repin and I don't trust myself anymore.

Looks like the socket unfortunately suffered some damage as well.

Yes. It's obvious.

Hopefully nothing else got fried. Once you get the socket out you'll be able to tell if the board was damaged. Replacing the socket and chip would be the first step in seeing if the board can be saved.

Ya im crossing my fingers that it was only the chip and socket. All the traces look good and nothing else looks damaged but that doesn't mean it isn't. I was hoping that it was a common mistake and there would be some assurances that u5n was the thing to blow.

Looking at the way the traces lead up to the burnt chip, I would think that the chip took the brunt of the load. Likely applied power to the wrong pins. I thing that replacing the chip and socket should fix the damage.
