Williams Black Knight (Williams, 1980) Starting

Hi all! I`m new to this forum and need your help! I acquired a Black Knight pinball a few months back which worked reasonably ok the only issue was both magna saves wouldn't magnetize the ball after pressing the capture buttons (still need to fix it) but I have an even bigger issue now. When I power up the game, everything lights up and drop targets are up but i can't credit the game after touching the contacts in the coin box!(Tried cleaning contacts) I think the start button also was not starting the game the last time I did manage to credit up the game. Could this be a fuse or wiring issue or maybe a board issue? I noticed the fuses in the game were the wrong type and changed about 5 of them to the recommended voltages in the manual before the game went down. Any help would be much appreciated!!! I am a newbie on pinballs repairs and hope to get this machine fully restored and clean one day :)

P.S I have put back the original fuses and it is still down

i think you have a board issue. both the magna save issue and the credit switches/ start button issue use 2j2 on the driver board pins 8 and 9. both of these pins are controlled by IC17 (SN7406). replacing this chip might solve both of the issues.

Hi! Thanks for the info! (Much appreciated!)The issue i had with both magna saves on the Black Knight was although they both lit up and the solenoids fired it just didn't magnetize the ball! I read somewhere that there is a ground wire that needs to connected for the magnets to work? I think the wire was orange and black (not sure about that). When the game was delivered to me, the guy who sold it to me dismantled the back cabinet/casing for transport then reconnected it
