hello.. i posted a few months back regarding an issue iw as having with my machine having the Volume on FULL Blast without any adjustments working.. I was just told by a repair guy to check the batteries under the back glass, and wouldnt you know it.. it worked.. the volume is back under control.

my issue now is that the machine seems to have gone into a master reset mode, and NONE of my service mode control function buttons work..

i am also unable to play the machine on free play as in the past, and even if i flick the credit relays it will not give credit to the machine..

ANY help is greatly appreciated... am i missing something stupid here or what?

if there was any battery leakage the battery holder needs to be replaced. i just changed one of these on a demo man service call . the part number is A-15814 exact oem replacement part, availible from marco pinball . changing the battery holder and batteries would be a good start . after doing this and re-installing board turn machine on-off twice and back to on to bring up attract mode , if door buttons still dont work cpu board damage might have occured from battery leakage and needs to be repaired.

I own a Flash (williams) pin and the battery holder
is an add on due to the old one also leaking
and trashing the holder itself
do yourself the favor and throw in a newer one
this way you know the batteries will be fresh and
easier to get to
mine is usually taped to the side of the backbox
I took it down to show you how relatively easy they can be to replace

update

tried to go in and do the on off twice thing.. unit reset and went into a semi shutdown mode making a beep every few seconds with nothing coming up on the screen.

after resetting it again, it came on, and went thru test and still the same result.

tempted to do the battery pack like you mentioned.. how do i go about this?

or should i just order the battery holder and go that route.

if so wehre do you guys buy parts from?

pinball resource and marco pinball will have just about anything you will need for repairs. if you dont have good solder skills , you might do more harm than good to your board. you might have to send your cpu board away to be repaired and tested anyway.

whos good for board repairs? thinking of just pulling the boards and sending them to get fixed.

how to i knwo its not my actual service keypad on the coin door not causing hte issue? any way to narrow this dowN?

i want to use one of these little icons for the hell of it too.

if there are any vendors near you or an arcade
try asking them where they get their boards fixed?
maybe if they fix them themselves they can give you a discount
or help you with at least a company name
I was lucky in that my pin was working when I got it from slydog43 (from over at vpf)
at least the electro mechanicals were anyhow
the playfield is trashed and is something I am gonna fix by myself

but they do fix boards and can even pick up said item
should it be too large to ship by mail
