DISARM-A-GEDDON

NEWS FLASH:

The world is in turmoil. Most nuclear empowered nations are fearful of the emergence of some newer radical nations and the END GAME which they fear is Global proliferation, or TOTAL ARMAGEDDON.

You are James Blonde, secret agent, nationality... unknown.... You are armed with wire cutters, and a tranquilizing/and memory erasing dart gun, have been directed to disarm all nuclear warheads. You are a munitions expert, (computer savvy), strong, stealthy and well equipped for this extremely dangerous mission... a mission to save the ENTIRE WORLD!!!

The mission is TOP SECRET; You must slip in and out of each country and must not involve any casualties so as not to trigger a war.

You will covertly enter the eight nuclear armed nations. As you approach the nations nuclear bunkers you must subdue the security guards/drop targets, starting with the randomly lit lower six, using your martial arts expertise, or by dart gun. Then you must take on the heavily armed security guards then the Bodyguard who is guarding the entrance/ramp to the Head Security Guards Monitoring station.

When you have subdued the men you must tranquilize the Head Security Guard and coerce/obtain the 4 digit security code from the HSG. Once re-entering the playfield you have 60 seconds to use the code to complete the numbered ramp sequence in code order to enter that nation's bunker. A wrong number/ramp will start the sequence over.

Once inside the dark bunker, you will have to DISARM each nations set of stockpiles of bombs which are red, yellow, blue and green.

Once each nations stockpiles (Pakistan 1 stockpile..USA 8 stockpiles) are completed you will re-enter the bunker and leave the country with the plutonium.

Grand Champion will DISARM all eight Nuclear empowered countries.

Good Luck, at DISARM-A-GEDDON

This is the story behind the table that ANDROID wrote.
The table took 2 1/2 months to build, and it was based on an idea ANDROID got for an original table. His ideas are far beyond my capabilites to build it in VP, with many effects and video modes. The table I build is a short version of his idea and maybe one day I'll be able to build it like he dreamed.

Since this is version 1.0 there may still be some errors in the code (I'm sure there are still plenty of them). So just write here anything you may think it is not right.

I have added a manual to the zip file where you can read all about the rules, the scoring, some tips, the different modes, what to do, etc.

I would like to thank to:
- Randy for this Visual Pinball program
- PacDude for his fading lights system
- Black for the Display Driver (DMD), Williams font and the highscore subs
- Chris La Mantia for his attract mode
- Daniel for sounds and voices
- Dinocostas for his "pool" ball,
- And to all the other VP authors, from whom I have learned all I know about VP.

I have uploaded the table only here, so it will be easier for me to update.
Now I know what it means to make an original table, so hats off to all the original VP authors!

Thanks for the table JP. It is a pleasant change to play a table that I haven`t seen before. Cheers for all your hard work over the past few years!

Craig.

Update 1.01

I have updated the table .
I have fixed a few errors:
- Fixed Exit Level not activated after loosing ball (after the Jackpot Mode with multiballs)
- Fixed ball getting trapped behind Body Guard
Just now these were the two errors that had been reported.

Wow, this table is awesome! It's so realistic... especially the flippers. They respond perfectly, this table has the best flipper physics I've ever seen! What's your secret? :pirat: I love the originality of the gameplay, too. Great flow, nice audio and visuals, and physics!

I'm glad you like the table.

I use nearly the settings StevOz recomends for the flippers. I tested a lot the flippers and I tried to find a setting which didn't flip back the ball too much and at the same time it shoud allow to hit the middle targets and the middle ramp. The settings are in the script, and I use a lower speed and a higher strength.

Update 1.2

I have made a revision of the table based on yours and ANDROID's input and suggestions. I think I have fixed the few errors and I also changed some rules and added a few new ones. The table still is very hard, and there is no "easy" mode, so you'll need patience to master this table (and VP doesn't help much here making it quite difficult to be able to shoot the sides and the center with just one flipper settings).

I guess the table is finished now.

Game changes:
- Removed extra Ball after 10 hits of the middle ramp
- Added extra ball to the superjackpot (obtained after 5 jackpots)
- Added extra ball to the CC.
- The CC hit and Multiball hit counter doesn't reset after loosing a ball
- The Jackpot start points double after obtaining 5 jackpots (from 50.000 to 100.000). Also the ramp shots add double points to the Jackpot.
- Jackpot mode ends 99 seconds after the multiball award after disarming the bombs.
- Deactivated the CC awards during multiball
- Disabled the ramp code penalty during multiball
- Added 5 bonus lights to the DMD, and after each 5th bonus you get an extra ball award (before it was a shoot again of 45 seconds)
- Added more sounds (female groan sound to the France guards, ops! that was a spoiler)
- Changed the DMD to show the score, ball in play, bonus and the bonus multiplier.

Bugs fixed
- Fixed error with the side kickbacks lamps (outlane lights)
- Increased the brightness of the ABCD lights
- Tried to fix the bunker end level & multiball where the game sometimes went into LIMBO, not knowing what to do with the ball and the end level (I'm not sure if I succeed fixing this error since I have not been able to reproduce it, I start to think that a ball must have gone through a wall letting the game think there is still one multiball left).
- Fixed the error in the DMD about the length of a line.
- Tried to minimize the ball through flipper by adjusting the flipper return speed. But if your computer isn't fast enough then during multiball you may still get this VP error.

The table, as always, is only here at Pinball Nirvana, and it is about 12Mb.

Good luck!

JP
