Est-il possible que je doive maintenant installer plusieurs logiciels pour pouvoir utiliser FizX 2.0. ??? une version sans besoin de Visualpinball et DOF... Direct Plugin etc... Un VBScript à Copier avec les fichiers nécessaires aux nouvelles fonctions de la table des sons qui sonnent trop bien. FizX v109 C'est encore plus simple, ça marche bien, mais j'aimerais un script un peu comme rolling ball.

No, you don't need to install any other software or addons at all to use FizX v2.0, or to use FLEEP sounds, or to add Ball Rolling. That's exactly what I explain in this AIO Example table and tutorial.


You copy and paste the vbs code, add a timer, add some smaller bits needed for FizX code (like slings, etc), add the FizX models, textures, and FLEEP sounds.

FizX (any version) requires more than just a copy and paste of vbs code, and adjusting flippers. You "need" to also install FizX diverter models for slings and rubbers.... and add new FizX rubber diverters (and rubber walls, etc) to cover all the rubbers on the table that the ball will hit. FizX reduces the original "FP rubbers" so that they don't do much. This is to allow the new FizX controlled rubbers (diverters with the correct FizX name) to be used and work better.

You don't need to use or know about DOF, PUP at all or have them or B2S Server installed. DOF and PUP are extra "bonus" features that are supported using this AIO Example code that allows them to automatically work if the player has them installed. FP doesn't need or use B2S server for anything (including DOF and PUP). If the table modder or the player doesn't have DOF or PUP installed, then DOF and PUP are not used. Super simple and easy and automatic. If you take the (optional) extra steps to use PinMechSound commands (instead of playsound).... then everyone benefits as now you added full support for PUP SSF and DOF solenoids for those who do have it.

The tutorial explains what to do step by step.

@Zobou Yah, if that is your attitude... figure it out on your own. I wouldn't want to "piss you off" by offering to help you or explain things to you. I got better things to do.

Either way... "boring" is not much better. Tutorials are there to help and answer questions... and if someone can't be bothered to take "their" time to get the answers laid out for them step by step in a "written" tutorial (so it can be translated, and with pictures)... then they can waste their own time figuring things out themselves. I've done my part (and I didn't need to, it was for everyone else's benefit... not mine).... they can do theirs.

I get language barriers can be an issue (I'm also Canadian, live across the river from Quebec and don't speak French, except for Quebec curse words :) )... so if I took this the wrong way.... than I do apologize... but nothing ticks me off more than giving up a lot of my own time, just to see this kind of thing.

I'll happily help someone who at least tries to make an effort (respectfully, of course).

En effet je me trompe encore... J'avais suivi tout le tuto de Terry mais j'étais "bloqué" sur les options (DOF et PUP) que je n'ai jamais réussi à mettre en place. Je dois à Terry des excuses, Vous pouvez désactivé les options a la lignes 212 et 213 sur l'exemple FizX. Vous pouvez aussi repartire de cette example et cree une nouvelle table.

Indeed I'm still wrong... I had followed all of Terry's tutorial but I was "stuck" on the options (DOF and PUP) that I never managed to set up. I owe Terry an apology, You can disable the options on lines 212 and 213 on the FizX example. You can also start from this example and create a new table.

I maintain my request for the options (DOF and PUP) I would like it to be easier to install on Fp.
 
In some years, when my life work is done, I will try to update some of my favorite old FP tables with fizx (whichever version then will be ...)
Or maybe some much more talented authors want to do some... (My wish for Christmas, birthday...) ;⁠-⁠)
 
Installing DOF and PUP are not required though just to add FizX, FLEEP, Ball Rolling, PUP SSF and DOF features to any table. The code will do that for you. You only need DOF or PUP installed if you want to use those features (beyond what the tutorial is meant to show how to do).

You also don't need to disable DOF or PUP in the table script either, as the code will do that for you automatically if you don't have either one installed on your PC. The table is standalone like any other FP table.

Installing DOF and PUP.... yes that could be a bit easier, but that has nothing to do with the tutorial and example code. PUP is easy if you only want to use SSF... but if you want to display video pup-packs (like on PinEvent), that is way beyond what the Tutorial is meant to help with, and is not what the example table adds.


Just concentrate on following the tutorial from the start in order, right up until you get to updating PinMechSounds. If you've gotten that far.... then you at least have a working table with FizX, FLEEP for ball hits sounds, and Ball Rolling Sounds. If that is all working nicely... then follow up with the PinMechSound commands.


It's always a bit hard at first to do something different than we are used to. It takes time. My video is in English, but it may be helpful to at least look at what I am doing (just play some nice music instead of hearing me... and maybe the close captions translate?)

merci terry, oui ça avance bien de mon côté. Ma demande serait d'implémenter DOF et PUP a même sur le BAM. Je ne sais même pas si c'est possible ? Vous pouvez toujours répondre non à la demande et clôture de la discussion. Nous n'obtenons que si nous demandons. Le but est d'ajouter des options pour les utilisateurs de flippers virtuels et de simplifier.

thank you terry, yes it is progressing well on my side. My request would be to implement DOF and PUP even on the BAM. I don't even know if it's possible? You can always answer no to the request and close the discussion. We only get if we ask. The goal is to add options for users of virtual pinball machines and to simplify.
 
No, we won't see DOF and PUP added as part of BAM. It's not that simple :)
