FizX Mechanics slingshot bumper combo

So if I have a slingshot and a bumper like below, do I just use a diverter on the small section of rubber and a bumper and peg skirt ?

I moved the bumper to show how the table is laid out.
i only added the bumper and bumperskirt-fizx , just add a small rubberpost-fizx on the top of the lane guide? similar to a slingshot. Is this the correct way?
or is it not much to worry about?

How interesting. I have never seen a configuration like that before. I don't think the rubber that goes around the inside of the bumper actually functions. I think the author just wanted a smooth transition between the bumper and the post. In addition to the FizX bumper skirt and rubber post, I would add one of those straight rubber wall things on top of the rubber between the post and bumper. There is no need to add a rubber wall on the bottom side of the rubber because there is no way a ball can hit it.

its tedious for someone who hasnt really done much other than hard code script tweaks.

You do realize I have only dabbled with this for about 1 year with a 3 month break?
I do know all fizx is doing is modeling invisible models over top models and bypassing the coding for them basically.
makes more sense know, however there has been things added like dof etc that f*** me up.
I havent got the original scripting down and there has been updates, so I think its harder.
Plus I havent actually read much (terry will probably want to slap me, lol)
I see a tutorial and buried later on there is a updated one, Im almost done with evil kenevil with everything fizx accept dof and pup... which Im not even getting into that yet...

I haven't looked at new FizX (I will probably look at this again when the new Rav functions are implemented but... DOF and PUP, although they can get the sounds work (more or less) seamlessly from sounds part of FizX, it's not FizX so, we can get to use FizX as feature without DOF or PUP implemented right?

Dim is how you declare a variable. There are also Const that you declare but are obviously, not variables but constant/immutable value.

I'm just teasing you mate. Actually, I have problems sleeping myself and it gets worse when I start looking at code so i totally know what you mean.

Yes, if you take FizX from the vbs, you will not have PUP and DOF.. But sincerely, because @TerryRed adapt it to FizX easily with AIO, there is no reason to not use FizX based on AIO template. It's very easy
 
I was just asking because of the whole FizX Lite issue that popped up a few days ago.
From what I've read I don't see why not just "C&P" the AIO template to a table.

Regarding the update i'm still a bit underwater myself so I'm in no hurry. Well in a way I am in a hurry because the better FizX get (and simpler to implement) the better for FP authors to keep improving tables.

actually most of it is covered by a pf layer. off to the tutorial to see if I need to ass every damn (30) pegs and rubbers
quite a few. Need to make sure I get every nook and cranny otherwise there will be harsh punishment.. lol

Don't worry, it's easy.
 
functioning i think I have most if fizx done, tweaks need fine tuned. kind of sick of testing over and over.

open for suggestions, slaps or praises... lol

Ok here's a quick feedback (keep in mind I played in VR)

- the left slingshot rubber render grey (left renders white)
- the gates are too heavy. I even got the ball stuck under the right one (at the exit of the plunger lane)
- the slingshots sometimes get the hit but damp the ball, like the kicker contact point is not there. Maybe the threshold is too high but I leave that for you to debug :D
- the left spinner doesn't always stay vertical making it impossible to hit.
- you may want to look at the translite. The bulbs for the players seem to be too low. I'm assuming they should illuminate behind the player numbers.

Suggestion: maybe you can add sound to the gates when they're hit. There's not much regarding sounds in this tables so, with would be nice to hear the gates "slapping" :) You can look at Cosmic Princess (I added code for that there that you may have to adapt but at least you get the idea)

The ball is not "stuck" anymore on the slingshots as it was the first time and multiplayer works fine for the 4 max players.
There are hit sounds pretty much everywhere and that's cool.

Overall is a quality table that plays and looks good but just needs a few adjustments.

It's a disable DOF on a table that doesn't have DOF that I know of I lose table sounds.
 
FIZX script if I turn DOf and PUP to false the sounds don't work for the ball rolling if I turn DOF to true then the ball sounds work
 
I've been working on a premium table and I dont want to take a bunch of heat for it not being near perfect.. lol

You know you can simply edit your posts right? No need for the double post if you're on the same subject.
Also, there are commas, periods, and other types of punctuation that can be used to help the readers, especially non-english speakers, understand you.

That being said, I don't have DOF or PUP in my PC but with both being False I can still have rolling ball sounds. So if you have one or both systems I can't help you, otherwise you're doing something wrong.

Humpty Dumpty (Gottlieb 1947) has two of those at the bottom of the playfield. The bumpers are passive, I believe, but they do contribute to scoring when lit.
