Hey all, new on these forums. Just picked up a Gottlieb Gladiators on the cheap. Been blowing the power supply fuse consistently and won't boot. I was able to narrow it down to the Control Board, since if I were to unplug the connector from the PS to the CB, the fuse won't blow. I do have questions I'd like to ask before I just go get a new board.
1. Is it possible/likely that the short in the board somewhere was caused by a short elsewhere in the game, meaning when I replace the board it'll just ruin the new board?
2. Is there a way I can systematically test for a short in the rest of the system connected to that board without getting a new board?
3. Am I going about this the wrong way? I'm kinda new to pin repair.
Also worth noting is that the Sound Chip (YM2151) on the aux sound board is broken. Not sure if that would cause an issue like this.
Any thoughts and suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.
