on each of the score drum units is a three switch stack except for the 100,00 drum unit. the top switch on the drum unit controls the coil reset pulse. in drum positions 1-9 this switch will be closed at zero the switch will open. the center switch opens and closes in the same positions, this switch tells another relay that the score reel is at zero when the switch opens. the bottom switch is the 9th position carryover to advance the next drum unit. since the 100,00 drum unit does not carry over the 9th position switch is not needed. all 4 player drum units get pulsed by 3 reset relays, no 1 reset, no 2 reset, and no 3 reset. because the transformer is not strong enough to pulse 20 score drum units at once. before working on machine unplug machine or turn machine off. the score drum units are held in place by a u shaped notch on top of unit and a spring wire on the bottom of unit. push spring wire over remove unit from bottom first. manually push coil plunger and check operation of switches. adjust switches and clean contacts with points file if necess. check for wires off.
resolder if necess. reinstall drum unit top notch first and snap bottom into position. turn machine on and check reset operation. if still not working drum unit coil might be bad or 1 of the 3 reset relays need to be checked. in most cases the score drum stack switches are the problem.
