The one that gives you a gumball
Shocky, I'm not sure if you can read VPF. I wanted to show you a couple of FS tables with settings to try. To me, your opinion is always worth reading on Visual Pinball

First, in a FS table, to keep the ball round, round bumpers and everything in it's correct scale, the xScale and the yScale must remain at a 4x3 scale. This means you can also rotate tables and play them on a 4x3 monitor also. Then you use the Inclination and Field of View to fill the screen in anyway you'd prefer, rather than the way it's been done so far. This works great for rotated desktops, I'm not trying to make improvements to cabinet FS as they seem to love it the way it is and I don't want a cabinet anyway. It also does wonders for the look of the flippers....

Keep in mind, you can change the Inclination and Field of view to achieve all sorts of different effects, you just need to keep the xScale and the yScale in 4x3 as VP is written for 4x3.

Below is a Dolly Parton rotated table for a 4x3 monitor and the settings to start with. 16x9 rotated monitor for Attack and Revenge from Mars, both JP tables as he keeps most of them angle independent.

I'm sure that's enough to get you experimenting. :)

This is also more fun playing than the screenshot would suggest.

You could turn the reels and put the Mr&Mrs PacMan backbox above the table and still have plenty of room for a FS table.

Thanks Bob. Those do look good.

You are right. Though I can read text on the most public of sub forums at VPF I can not view pics that are attachments in posts. I was actually going to ask you to post those pics here, but thought I would just be thought of, not by you though, as whining.

I do go to VPF about every other day and try to log in, and am actually surprised when I see that I am still banned. This IS whining. It actually sucks. Being banned for calling someone that has mastered techniques that I helped pioneer an asshole because he called me a non contributer. The silly thing is that we would have been friendly towards each other by now, probably. I surly could have convinced him that I have contributed a great deal, if he really was unaware, and that contribution does not require a quota on built recreations.

Do you have a vesa mounting stand that rotates your monitor, or do you have to prop it up on it's side? I have seen many rotating monitors, that change orientation just by swiveling them in magazines and on the net, but I have not seen one in a store.

I had mmpac rotated back when 6.1 was new.

Funny how things change. I got a DA for just showing pics of someone else's table running rotated with the backglass and DMD on a second screen using 6.1 and the pics got deleted by one of the moderators there (at VPF.com). Now it's new with VP9? No it's just done differently. Now it is 'the way to play' LOL. It's cool now. But it was cool then as well.

Funny as well how things don't change.

Thanks again for the pics Bob.

So, how do I do this FS thing using a 14" monitor that doesn't turn? !!!!

You will have to turn your chair on it's side.

Just kidding John.

My monitor does not turn either. Keep in mind though that the cabinets are built with TVs and monitors that don't turn either. You will just have to prop it up on it's side. Not recommended with a CRT.

Which brings up a point, you mentioned that you did not know that monitors were as big as 32. The answer is that modern TVs double as computer displays with either PC RGB or HDMI connections.

You're all losing me with this high tech lingo of yours. My TV is an old Sharp 21" my friend gave me used, and is probably 12 years old.

Phil, Noah is at the Pinball convention in Chicago this week. When he's back, I WILL ask him to concider lifting your ban. If not, I WILL plead with him to at least give you access to the forums and the downloads.
