Hit And Miss, which possibly dates from 1875-1915, was made of cast iron, could have been named Hit OR Miss, with how difficult it can be getting the ball to do a complete figure eight when launched. The only change made to the game has been the addition of a hidden kicker where the word AND is, to allow missed balls to drain. With the right timing and proper amount of nudging, all scoring pockets can be hit, including the Double Cup, which isn't anywhere near as impossible as it may look.I've made this a 12 ball game, since many games from this time were indeed 12 ball games.
I spent a lot of time and testing to match the slpoe from the initial launch speed, which seems like a good starting point. You are free to adjust both the slope and the launch speed, but the results probably won't make you very happy. I found that I did best if I kept the launch spped at or near the initial setting, and nudged at just the right time. Learn to use the 10 diverter bumps on the table to your advantage. They can either help or hinder your final score. You can find Hit And Miss for download about half way down thai page:

Considering it's age, Hit And Miss is in fairly decent condition. Any purists who would like to redraw the source image for their own use may PM me at Pinball Nirvana for a copy.
