Lifelong Player, New Repair Novice!

Hi all! I have played pinball all of my life, as my dad had a machine of some sort in our house from the time when I was very young. At some point, our latest machines stopped being played and are not functioning correctly for us to use. We have a 1981 Gottlieb VOLCANO and a 1982 Gottlieb HAUNTED HOUSE. I am starting with the VOLCANO as it seems closest (maybe) to being playable. I am excited for my journey in learning how to get these machines up-and-running!

Welcome, and I'm a bit jealous you have some early SS's to work on.

One time an old school buddy offered me a Haunted House that needed work. I'd already had success figuring out how to fix EM's, but worried that I didn't have the electronics know-how to take on an SS, so I declined.

Dumb decision, I think. I don't know if I could have gotten it fully working, but I probably would have learned a good bit just by trying.
