Looping sounds & tables wont start

Slow framerate on commercial tables (Adams Family, Batman, etc.)

Hello all,
this site is awesome, the mecca of pinball; and I've found just about everything I needed.

I've installed VP and PinMame, unzipped vpvbs3_26 scripts to the Tables folder, and downloaded roms (zipped) to the roms folder.

Everytime I start a table there are no errors, my buttons work, but the table wont start. I've checked and verified the keys for Start Game & Insert Coin.

Also the sounds skip and repeat themselves very slowly.

I doubt this is a performance issue, as I'm running this on an amd dual core with a Nvidia 6200 with 2GB ram on xp in 640x480 mode.

The flippers and plunger move without skipping or frame issues.

Howdy and welcome , yeah , pinball Heavan on the net heh :D
With some tables you can press F6 to change game settings but you always must press F3 to restart PinMame , Sometimes it's key 3 for coins instead of key 5 and or with some of the older VP's press letter S to start the game.....
You probably know all this already but I hope I helped somehow :D

thanks for the quick reply.
The lights, sound, and display screen all freeze/unfreeze like the frame rate is really bad, but the plunger and flippers don't freeze at all.

Tried different tables with the same results.

Versions:
Visual Pinball 0.7.7012
PinMame 2.1

Think you might need VP8 ....... keep PinMame 2.1,
Just checked my VPINBALL.EXE and it's 1.0.0.3...
There are updates here in the downloads section
or try www.pinmame.com
Wish someone else would hurry and offer suggestions as I'm more musical,
not mechanical LMAO !!! ( Scotches haven't helped either LOL )

You'll be up and running soon , then the fun will start :D

The framerate is still bad for any commercial table (Adams Family, Batman, etc.)
But framerate is fine with custom made tables.

Tried disabling sounds & samples, same issue.

Everything functions, but it stutters so bad that it is unplayable.

Here's my complete specs, any additional thoughts?

AMD Dual Core 3800+ AM2
2GB RAM
Foxconn A74MX-K AM2+ AMD 740G Motherboard
Integrated Video ATI Radeon HD 2100 (Needed the nvidia 6200 for another pc) same issues.
Integrated Audio Realtek ALC662 6-Channel
XP Pro SP2
OS HD: SATA 80GB 7200 RPM HD
MEDIA HD: SATA 500GB 7200 RPM

Visual Pinball v.8
PinMame v.2.1

Got it working, applied latest chipset drivers for motherboard.
