Mars Attack script error

Hi,i have downloadde Mars Attack 2009 table from the downloadde section,looks like a awesome table ,it loas the sound and etc,i insert the coin,but then i press "1" to start and i get this script message

anyone can help me with that?
oh,i got messages like that from other tables too,could it be something wrong with my files?

I can't help you with the error, hopefully someone else can tell you how to make it work. I can tell you how to get rid of the error and play the table without saving your high scores.....

To do this, place an apostrophe (that's a single quote) in front of every line in the script that has to do with saving those values (it will turn the script type green and this is then not executed when the table is run.

Let me know if you get it to work. Hopefully someone will solve your problem the correct way.

I just downloaded the table, put it into my tables folder unzipped, loaded it into VP and started to play. It runs without any error. As you report of similar errors on other tables as well, I don't think it's a problem of the table at all.

Make sure you have and run the right VP version using this table. I tried the table using VP 8.1.1. Even if the table name is 'Mars Attacks 2009b', I don't think it's build/designed for VP 9.

If you use a previous VP version, try VP 8 (8.1.1.).

If you use Vista, make sure you run VP as administrator.

Something wrong with your files? I don't know and I can't answer that. About which tables else are you talking about? VP or VPM tables? As Mars Attacks 2009b is a VP table, the chance of an uncomplete installation of VP and VPM tends to zero.

Report. The more info you give, the better the chance to get help.

I do have a VP9 version of this table at VPF and it is the most up to date version..... I don't have any VP9 tables at PN, it's too confusing and I don't think anyone who is exclusively here really cares about VP9 anyway. I put VP9 in the filename if it is a VP9 table. Mars Attacks 2009 VP9 (Bob5453)

BTW, here is the answer to your problem (I think).... Credit goes to Steely as I just copied his post, but this is where I save the data.

The table is attempting to save data to the VPReg.stg file at this point, updating your credits.

One of the following should fix this.

1) See if this folder and file exists. VPReg.stg should be located in the User folder...
example - C:\Pinball\visual pinball\User\VPReg.stg

If the folder\file does not exist...next

2)Make sure the settings in the top editor menu Preferences\Security Options are set to allow creation of ActiveX Controls.
Also, "Detect and Error on Hanging Script", should not be checked.

3) If Vista, make sure vpinball.exe is set to "run as admin"

you could also try deleting the VPReg.stg if all else fails.

i upgrade my Visual Pinball with the essential files from download section,i was using 0.7,now i´m using 8.1 and there no scripts error anymore!
