Just came across this and thought it was shareable. PixiEditor is an open source graphics application for pixel art, painting, animation and even vector graphics! On top of that, it's available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Even more impressive, it also has a powerful node based system for FX. (which is very cool BTW)
You can actually switch from pixel to vector art, or have a combination of both at once.
It's early days, but sure can see how good this program is, and it's open source with source code available.
