NEW runtimes MAYBE - compiling script crashes

I can no longer use the compile function in scripting?
anyone else notice?
My system is win 11 pro everything is updated to the latest. which the latest feature update sucks, wait a while....
anyways, rebooted, reinstalled fp and same thing it crashes and closes. Tried just the basic table as well as elmstreet etc.

Update, it only does it when i load from fploader
it doesnt crash if I dont use bam.

My pinball folder is set as antivirus exclusion, also never had this issue, it might be a protected memory violation.?

MY SOLUTION,
if you do not run the table first it crashes. It works if I run the table first

In FP script editor "Compile" (F7) command should not crash FP.

If you know of any other problems on FP, you should tell Rav about it. He may not be able to fix it but he frequently can. He doesn't always read all the postings so it is better to send a private message.

The problem does go away after you run your table once, but it can be very frustrating for the immediate crash if you forgot to do that and just use the compile. I use the compile a lot when I'm writing lots of code to get high level syntax check/verification.

The BAM beta update ravarcade posted should fix the problem. I havent had a crash yet.

Nice I'll give it a try myself to verify the steps to cause the crash is fixed.

yes i just have to run the table first... I dont think I never noticed it before, as (above) Terry said its always been that way.

Thanks, wasnt expecting a fix, sence there was a easy solution, just never noticed it did that before, i always though tit was bad scripting.. lol
