Upgrade/Project New Site Logo Workshop

Howdy again,
I have a question.
I remember when I first started helping on the site, Jon was trying to get the Pinball Nirvana logo to stretch across the screen.
The one at top of site that says Pinball Nirvana Nudging neccessary.
This was one of the first things he asked me for help with, when I became an Administrator.

My question is...
Does the logo look small on your computer screens? Similiar to the pic below?
Here is pic of how it looks to me.


Well I think I found where to change the size in the ACP.
Right now it is set for resolution of 526 X 91.
I would like to change this to 1024 X 177 so it will almost be twice the size.

If you guys give the go ahead on this, I can test to see if this works.
If it doesn't or has any unforeseen consequences, I can go right back and set it to 526 X 91.

Worth a try?
Or am I the only one seeing a small site logo?

Give it a go, be interesting to see, I run the site set at 170% magnification in FF, with the shades of grey theme... get a different logo which I think looks better...

Yeah that doesn't look good. Looks kind of blurry.
It would probably need to be redone completely from scratch to make better res version.
Just throwing ideas out there.

I only started on this, because I remembered Jon talking about it when I first became an Administrator.
(Although I just went through all of my messages and can't find the one where he talked about making Logo bigger.)

I guess it was a Chrome problem, as Chrome showed smaller Logo.
Maybe he wasn't asking to make Logo bigger. Maybe just to make it the same size as shown on Firefox?
Kind of a bummer seeing his post does not ask to make it go all the way across screen.
I could have sworn he asked me about making it go across the whole screen!

Still makes me wonder if he would like to see his original default logo go all the way across the page with better resolution, instead of small version on left side of page.
The original default logo was made back in 2013, 10 years ago. This is right before widescreen monitors started to be used widely by many.

I was hoping to pleasantly surprise him the next time he logged in, and he would see an upgraded version of his original default logo, that goes all the way across the screen, and has a higher resolution.
Maybe I should just put all of these resources in a folder and save them for another day?

I mean no disrespect, I just love the logo, and the site!
Do you think Paul would get mad?

I can't see how it could be considered disrespectful and I can't speak for Paul. I did myself run the nirvana logo in my signature at VPF, for many years without any concerns.

Hey guys, Halloween is drawing near.
What do you think about testing that Halloween Logo I made for the site logo?
Just to see how it looks, and to see if any problems pop up.
By problems, I mean like if people are using a cell phone to view site, if it causes a problem.
I can easily change it back to the default logo if needed.
Just thought it might be neat to have that logo showing on Halloween Day. (And maybe a couple days before.)

Ok took me a bit, but figured out it was 1178 x 196 to fit it perfectly and centered. (I started at 1200 x 200 and worked my way down until it matched edges.)
Does it look centered?
I only added it to the main theme, and not the 2X.

EDIT:
When I say matched edges, I mean the right side of page, as the left side starts on the edge automatically.
1200 took it over that right side edge.
Now it is lined up.

I thought I would mention, i have never owned a cell phone, so I am unable to test site with one.

Because you are not using default theme. Your background is dark.
Also should I add it to the 2X on the default theme?

I would say, just change the 2X to the Halloween theme also and change them back next week.

I had to change the 2X pic, as it stretched the old short logo pic to the dimensions of the new logo.
Ok 2X is added.
Remember this will only be seen on the default theme.

Works well when zooming in on page over 100%!!

No it works for all themes.
I just have to set them.
Are you saying you want me to add it to all themes?
Or just your dark theme so you can test it on phone?

I'm using Shades of Grey, though when I tried Shades of Grey Original the logo changed to the Xeno forum logo.

I don't think any of them that say Original have the Pinball Nirvana logo.

Adding the original logos here as attachments so I don't lose them, and they will be easier to find.
I included the Xenoforo logo also just in case.

Actually I am surprised by how low res, the original logo images are. You had some better ones made as I recall. Might be an idea to replace the older ones with those after Halloween.
