Has anyone experienced this.
I havent changes anything. also reinstalled to same folder, checked file for integrity as well.

Load fploader and it loads fp and I can load a table...
exit fp but fploader wont open fp , it tries and crashed.
I have never has this issue, nothing has changed on my pc and I havent changed any bam of fp settings.

Im examining event viewer for issues now... wonder if its the latest win 10 update?

figured it out. was showing event id 1000, app crash, futurepinball.exe and bam.dll also.

did a sfc /scan now in powershell to rebuild windows 10 integrity, had some corrupted files.
did the trick

I wonder if that's what's happening for me. For me it starts and then crashes to desktop a million times until it decides to load, eventually. But i'm on win 11 (upgraded from fully updated w10)

Totally forgot about the sfc command. Thanks for the tip.

/edit
no problems found by sfc

/edit2
Seems that running it in compatibility mode with win8 solved me problem. Hopefully for good.

Yeah, seems sfc found and fixed files, but fp seems to be doing it again and sfc didnt find corrupt files.

i noticed if I run fp without bam then go back to fploader it works, somtimes crashes a few times right as fp finishes loading.

I think there somtheing hanging up that doesnt close then eventually it closes.. could be visual c package.
ill try repairing all of those as well and report back

october 2021 version all in one installer.

Thanks for mentioning that. I had no idea that was a thing.

Indeed, with how often Windows seems to run diagnostics and upgrades, I guess I just assumed it was more of an automatic process.

Wow, for some reason I never thought of that one. I've had FP-BAM crashes for ages.

Wonder how many of them that might have cleared up. :s

I got a runtime error when trying to edit a script. I usually had it crash if I had ran a table.
interesting. I think its a recent update for windows..
.. win 8 mode seemed to fix it.

It was something on the last update for windows for sure. And it was carried to win11! M$ cocked up and i'm betting it is related to another issue concerning multi-displays, too.

Anyway, compatibility mode with win8 it is still working for me.

my event viewer shows multiple errors nvidia, bonjour print services... Ill try a fresh install of winblows 10 updated bam and fp and see if the issues still reside and report back. (i have a spare drive I can do it on)

sfc /? in shell(admin) shows available options
sfc /scannow
verifies and repairs any and all windows 10 files.
I have constant errors, I do this weekly and always if something doesnt work correctly. I also defrag and scan/clean my registry

Wowee, that's way more proactive than me. oO

1) Any idea how you're getting so many errors of that nature?

2) How long does that SFC process usually take for you?

Note: I'm also running Win10, and so far just let the auto-defrag do its thing. Haven't thought about a registry clean in years, probably because I install and uninstall very few programs on this system, which I've had for about two years now.

Thank you again for your feedback on this stuff!

I would avoid ANY tool that says it cleans registry.
Messing with the registry is bad already without "automagic" tools.

Regarding sfc, i have no idea. Last time sfc and DISM actually catch something was... a long time ago because i don't remember.

I would do a check disk. Install hd sentinel too. Smart is not the most accurate thing either but you might have an eminent drive failure if you have corrupted files constantly. Either that or malware, if you ask me.

Other more well versed in windows idiosyncrasies might give better help.

just right click your windows button (bottom left) run shell (admin)
dos box opens up.

type sfc / scannow

its a windows integrity check its part of windows.
i backup my registry before doing cleaning and I do a restore point.
I use wise reg cleaner and have never had it mess anything up.
though cleaning the reg can cause issues

another
takes maybe 6 min for me. Its not like a defrag or full format..

another helpful powershell command is unblock, this will unblock your all files in downloads,
dir -Path "c:\Users\YOUR WIN USER NAME\downloads" -Recurse | Unblock-File

@hellrzr2k1,
sfc /scannow took about 25min over here, found no problems.

Guess you have a much faster system, then.

Hmm, I've no idea what that might mean.

I have no issues in my downloads folder AFAIK.

when you download files they are blocked , (right click and select properties. at the bottom you will see "" this file was blocked and might be unsafe etc etc"" you have to check the unblock box and apply... (I never noticed this ,yself until recently), its in the instructions on nailbusters site for popper.

anyways lets say you download a bunch of tables to unblock all those instead of doing each one you can use that command in powershell to unblock everything in your download folder.

Ok, no I found a zed hacked futurw pinball exe.
also on here is a modded (no loading fp logo)
these versions are 1.9.2013.25

the latest original fp.exe ( i think) is 191 2009 1231
(the latest on here says 1.91.2010.1231 but it isnt its 1.91.2009.1231

does anybody know if the zed and the other no loading logo (downloaded from herre as future pinball 2.5)
are these mods / hacks, of the latest original future pinball.exe

also about my 64bit modded original, I noticed in TZ(1.03) the ball gets stuck where it drops to the top left flipper by the gumball machine occasionally, in the original fp.exe it has never done this, so there is something slightly different going on.
The slope flipper bounce difficulty are identical also, all i did was swap exe files. also It seems at 7.2 slope its a tiny bit easier to make the ramps, leaving me thinking it plays the table a tiny bit faster. anyways its interesting.

As I mentioned before... do not use "any" modded version of the future pinball.exe

It will cause oddball issues and won't help you. That includes the Zed versions.

The only time I have ever used the Zed 64bit hacked exe was for some odd tables that wouldn't load all textures into the table editor, and I wanted to be able to see what some textures looked like, or wanted to mod the table, etc. But after that I never used it to play the table.

BAM fixes most of the issues we've found over the years (except when enabling "Load Images into Editor" issue that can crash FP on some tables). It allows for all changes to physics, and you can remove the FP logo,etc.... so there is literally no reason to use any modded version of the futurepinball.exe

Just ask @GeorgeH who used to be a big supporter of modded exes and the Zed 64 bit exe.... but he too no longer uses them.

Interesting, didn't know that. And after a little research, it looks like "blocked" is like a flag that says "I'll let you work with this file if you want to, but I might limit some options, make it read-only, etc."

So far this hasn't troubled me a bit with the apps I run and things I do, but I could see how it might trouble others sometimes.

Btw, looks like if you don't want to trouble with unblocking things after the fact, you can just turn if off at the source:
How do I stop Windows 10 from blocking files?

Disable downloaded files from being blocked in Windows 10
  1. Open Group Policy Editor by typing gpedit.msc into the Start Menu.
  2. Go to User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Attachment Manager.
  3. Double click the policy setting "Do not preserve zone information in file attachments".

Or another way, via Regedit:

@TerryRed,
Can this version be retired, then?

I still use version 2.7 to remove the splash screen when the table loads. It would make sense to add the other versions here or delete the 2.5 entry and use the ones on PinSim DB. I have heard complaints from cabinet users the the alternate EXE files cause problems. I have found no problems using it on my desktop. I used the Zed version for a long time and it did seem to perform better on my PC at the time but Rav has since patched the memory leaks on FP and I got a new graphics card. So I stopped using the Zed because I didn't need it anymore and didn't like the changes to the lighting.

I'd say don't worry about the version numbers of the hacked versions. They are just hacks of the original FP EXE. I have no problems using any of the versions but cabinet users have so many front end programs that the alt EXE's can cause interface problems.

If you accept my opinion on this, i'd say what is on Rav's site is all we need.
That is one of the versions posted here:

So... perhaps it would be useful to mirror the different hacks here, noting their specific purpose / intentions.

At the same time, recommending that when in doubt, one should start with the Black or Rafal versions. (both have resource entries here)

i use the original that installs with bam.
I do like my 64bit flagged for slams tables though

The install from the FP website, and what ravaracade includes with the BAM 2 in 1 installer are the same thing (the last official unmodded version of FP), which is all I use now.

All other versions offer no real benefit (except what I mention above) and some cause problems (some are visual, some are physics, others cause crashing for some people). BAM has removed the need for any modded version. Stick with the original exe and you will have fewer problems or glitches.

1.03 had graphic issues with the 64bit flagged version.
Some tables play very well other dont. Is there a no loading screen logo mod of the original latest exe

Yeap, I get that. Was just pointing out that both Black & Rafal (via BAM) have resource entries here for the original FP.

In fact, maybe on the FP entry, a note should be added stating that it's recommended to start with a BAM install rather than a solo FP install? It's 2021, after all.

The "Ghost787" version I linked above is a no-logo hack.

But Terry mentioned it's also possible with BAM?
