not enough quarters! grrr!

i once had to pay $1 to get just one credit on a machine some years ago. the machine was ELVIS by Stern. how much was the most you had to pay and what was the machine?

I've never paid more than $0.50 for a game.
On the other hand I have paid $0.50 on pinball machines set to no replays, so that makes the playtime more expensive overall.

when the hyperpin pinball machine first made its appearance in North Jersey, it was set at $1.00 a game. the game sucked so bad that we were forced to lower its price to a quarter a game and still it didn't make enough money to keep it so we traded it (at Bensons)for another pin. rthis was the one that had a black playfield and two trigger pluingers on either side of the cab. i never could figure out the rules...

what year did that hyperpin come out? that one doesn't seem to ring a bell (no pun intended, in fact it didn't ring too many bells in gameplay and sales).

i think it should be a law (well, it would be law in my parlor), that if game are going to be 50 cents, machines should be set to replays and set to 5-ball games not, 3-ball. if you're going to spend your hard earned money on pinball, you might as well have fun and get the most out of it!
