Yeah. There doesn't appear to be any lights in the backbox either. Not even for the em reels.
Obviously, it was created by the book cover designer, though the book's projected revenue may have played a part in it.

i don't think it would have been that hard to do a better match with the book art. they could have just blown it up to put on the backglass and used transparency for the flare effect and white lines. that way the lights could have shown through. it might have looked rather pretty, i think.

They probably printed the backglass on plain paper with a commercial sized printer without a thought as to using transparency stock in the printer.

Maybe the backbox is really shitty and it would show through?

Or, that is paperstock on the box, so they removed the lights as a fire hazard.
And if that was an overlay on the Lady Luck glass, still intact, then the image would be visible through their design.

But the article says that the machine "was converted" to a one player with unlimited balls. Why would they do that? It suggests that the machine was not working correctly to begin with. Bad relays. Maybe it relates to the story, but they leave the two player scoring exposed for a one player machine???

i saw some UFO's on sunday early evening and the next day randomly discovered an article about how they had earlier in the week been seen in milwaukee and osaka. the army is saying they were actually a special parachute squad with flares taped to their legs or something.

And I don't know about UFOs, but out here in Los Angeles around former manufacturing plants such as Lockheed, twas about 6 miles down the road to the East, and Rocketdyne out around Chatsworth, Ca, 15 miles West of here, we used to see some pretty strange things in the sky. X-15 and Starfighter jets setting off sonic booms in the 60's, and gloriously colorful vapor trails against the late afternoon sunsets, from rocket launches at Vandenberg . And in the remains of Rocketdyne, we now have their residues of carcinogenic rocket fuels and chemicals creeping into the water supply out there.

Every now and then you can still see a Stealth Bomber roaring overhead in the sky, sometimes on a regular weekday and other times on its way to The Rose Parade in Pasadena, about 7 miles Northeast of here.

The usual sightings are police copters shaking the foundations of my drywall apartment while flashing their big 'ol spotlight beams down on the ground between the apartments and homes and the parking lots and the school across the street looking for the suspects. Like the Dennis Hopper film, "Colors". The Eye in the Sky going round and round in circles in surround sound.

We used to see The Goodyear Blimp about once a week with the marquee sign lit up, flashing messages and ads. And there are still skywriters with smoke messages and banner flyers. There was a flyer at the beach pulling a silk banner in the 3D shape of a giant can of Coors Light on his tail.

There was a meteor shower one night six or seven years ago. There was this one meteor. It was either very close to me, or it was an extremely large meteor. But it passed by parallel to the earth and looked like a big grey rock with vapor swirls of smoke whirling off of it in its wake. It shot straight across the sky right above me and I could hear the hissing sounds from the escaping vapors.

UFOs are just that, unidentified flying objects, many see them because they are unable to identify the object, mostly man made or atmospheric anomalies the observer is not familiar with.

They most certainly are not aliens from outer space, let's face it if any aliens have travelled here, their technology to do so would include cloaking abilities.

Well being towards my twilight years, though at 52 still amazingly physically fit and able, especially given the abuse of toxins I've exposed my body to. I have become more the sceptic then ever...

thanks, coily. i suppose that was the same stuff. maybe. hmm...

the ones i saw were in broad daylight (about 5-6pm) and from my angle, seemingly VERY high in the sky. i didn't see the flaring effect, but maybe that's because it was too bright out.

what they mostly looked like to me were airplanes (white specks), just that they didn't actually move like airplanes. i guess it was just some random skydivers (not the golden eagles) and the white specks were the parachutes.

:) so i'm gonna declare the villains unmasked and another mystery solved for scooby doo and the gang. (and they would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for some smoking coils!)
