hello.

i've just downloaded and installed PinMame 2.1, but i can't seem to get the tables to work.
I downloaded some ROMs and copied them in the appropriate folder, but when i run the tables only this comes up, and i can't see the table and play.

i tested the roms and everything's ok ...i'm missing something here :headscratch:...please help

Figured it out from the High Speed manual. Essentially, Balls/Play just changes the number of balls in the game, while Install 5 Ball changes other settings as well (makes the game harder since you have 67% more chances).

Except for the standard buttons, the buttons used for various features vary a lot from table to table as each author can use whatever they like best. This is especially true for Originals and all non-ROM-driven tables.

With ROM driven tables (meaning VPM Tables) you can set Balls Per Play etc. normally via the Operators Menu though, which is (in most cases) controlled via 7,8,9,0 and 1 as enter. (Machines manual provides details about menu options.) Exceptions are some AE Gottliebs (Sys80b) which also use the flippers to change menu options, and some AE Ballys need the NumPad if i remember correctly.

Older SolidState machines (EE) use DIP switches which are often already translated from plain numbers into function-descriptions. (Thanks to Inkochnito.) If the DIP menu is still in numbers format you can again use the manual to find out what DIP does what in which position. Sometimes several DIPs have to be switched in order to alter a function.

The only Williams EE machines that use DIPs are Sys3/4. Sys6 and later all use the NVRAM to store the settings, meaning they can be programmed via the OPs menu. The same goes for all DMD machines.

(EE = EarlyElectronics | AE = AdvancedElectronics)
